Role Summary

We are looking for Compensation Manager to innovate, win and grow with us in Portsmouth, NH

We are looking for an experienced compensation professional to manage the compensation function here at Bottomline. This will be a hands-on role that plans, develops, and implements market-competitive and equitable compensation programs on a global level. You will be reviewing market data to recommend pay ranges and also provide guidance as a compensation partner to all levels of the management chain. This position is responsible for ensuring that company compensation programs are consistently administered in compliance with internal policies and government regulations. The ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of compensation best practices, experience managing complex compensation programs, and a proven ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

How you’ll contribute:

  • Design, implement and manage the compensation structure & components, programs and processes to support the compensation philosophy
  • Determine range for new or revised job profiles, ensuring internal equity with existing positions
  • Identify and manage outside resources to ensure market competitiveness and equity analyses
  • Oversee regular pay equity analyses and audits and partner with the HR Team and the business to address identified inequities
  • Oversee the participation in salary surveys and monitors salary survey data to ensure competitiveness in alignment with compensation philosophy is achieved
  • Partner to provide training to leadership, managers, and employees around our compensation philosophy and pay practices; address questions with assistance from other HR team members when appropriate
  • Develop and drive the annual compensation processes by providing guidance to the business to support promotion and pay decisions, and advise in alignment with performance enablement
  • Partner on design & implementation of compensation-related HRIS tools
  • Manage the company's annual salary review process, including budgeting, data analysis, and communication with managers and employees.

  • Six years of progressively responsible experience in employee compensation
  • Experience utilizing HR systems
  • Strong analytical and data-driven mindset with the ability to interpret market data and make recommendations based on trends and patterns.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving skills, and high attention to detail with a measured sense of urgency. Ability to draw conclusions, themes and trends from data and propose business savvy and creative solutions
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong project management skills to drive projects to completion.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
