About the Role:

As Upgrade’s first Compensation Partner, you’ll be responsible for the timely and accurate execution of our pay programs such as: bonus incentive programs, pay structures, and annual merit processes. Reporting to the Director of People Operations, you will partner with our Operations teams to drive the complete lifecycle of their monthly bonus incentive programs with the goal of accurate payouts that drive performance. You will also be a key stakeholder in maintaining audits and controls with our Payroll and Finance teams. 


What You’ll Do: 

  • Partner with Operations teams by developing timelines and processes that ensure accuracy and integrity of each compensation program
  • Identify and make recommendations that are in line with Upgrade’s pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and consistent with compensation trends in the marketplace 
  • Assist People Operations and Talent Acquisition to determine appropriate and equitable starting pay for offer letters 
  • Partner with Payroll and Accounting to establish controls within the payout process to ensure appropriate levels of review and prevent errors in payouts 
  • Lead compensation cycles that may may include report development, data management, calculations, and salary budget planning 
  • Identify opportunities to simplify and eliminate manual touch points and handoffs through out the compensation cycle 
  • Perform ad hoc data analysis and modeling

What We Look For:

  • A demonstrated ability to work within matrixed teams and drive results while handling complex sensitive/confidential information 
  • At least 2 years experience in a compensation analyst or equivalent role
  • Have a consultative and controls oriented approach to compensation 
  • Experience with managing compensation in HR systems required (Workday is preferred)
  • Experience within a startup environment is a plus! 
  • Bachelor’s degree is required
