Join us as a Complex Solutions Lead

Brown Brothers Harriman is currently recruiting a Complex Solutions Lead to join our Alternative Fund Services Group. In this role the Complex Solutions Lead will be a primary contributor to the overall success and growth of BBH's rapidly expanding alternative fund servicing business. The individual in this role will be responsible for leading, directing and managing the solutioning of NAV Optimization and Business Transformation investment program. Priorities for this role include identifying service gaps and the solutions for addressing them, defining scalable operating models together with service delivery teams and planning and prioritizing related technology investments. They will lead and/or support aspects of ideation, prototyping, solution proposals, budget management, resolution of issues, and virtual management of resources to successfully meet goals and deliverables. The individual is responsible for transforming processes and technology to scale our capabilities across the global Alternatives Service Delivery team. This requires an intimate understanding of our business challenges as well as our technical capabilities to effectively collaborate with key stakeholders to develop new solutions that address our business imperatives.

The Complex Solutions Lead will work collaboratively with many other parts of the service delivery, systems and product management organizations based in Boston, Luxembourg, London, and Krakow. The role will be both internally and externally facing.

Some of your key responsibilities include:

  • Shape and manage the development roadmap for BBH's expanding complex solutions investment program.
  • Oversee and guide direct, and virtual, reports to ensure effective execution of program directives which may range from requirements definition and documentation to acceptance testing to production deployments.
  • Develop and implement discipline to onboard internal, and external, clients to new technologies.
  • Drive internal adoption of new technologies to streamline workflow, reduce risk, and build scale.
  • Identify, assess and address product/service gaps, overlaps and deficiencies.
  • Achieve product development outcomes by working collaboratively with systems, operations, finance, risk, legal and other BBH functional areas.
  • Prioritize enhancements based on value (client revenue, FTE save) to clients and internal users.
  • Synchronize complex solutions investments (tactical vs strategic) with the overall global alternatives technology investment program (Eze, eFront, ICX, Oracle, Alts Hub).
  • Contribute to enterprise-wide data strategy and development program with particular focus on alternatives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience; MBA or CAIA a plus
  • 10+ years of experience operating or servicing alternative investment funds
  • Strong understanding of institutional alternative asset management industry including a thorough understanding of the fund operation and finance functions commonly outsourced to custodian/administrators
  • Familiarity with the processes and systems commonly used for fund accounting, financial reporting, shareholder record keeping and performance measurement
  • Analytical & strategic mindset

  • Superior communication skills including writing and presentations; concise and articulate both in verbal and written forms with ability to influence and negotiate
