About The Role
As a next generation financial services company, Beyond Finance helps consumers save money, get control of their finances, and borrow responsibly. Beyond’s Compliance Department supports these objectives by monitoring for compliance with applicable state and federal laws. As a Compliance Analyst - Governance, you are a key player in our team’s mission to provide actionable intelligence to business stakeholders so that together we can (1) support consumers' understanding of our products and services, and (2) achieve strategic business priorities, within the highly regulated consumer finance industry. In this role, you will manage periodic review and update of Company regulatory policies and procedures, maintain and report on required compliance training performance, and produce engaging compliance informative content to improve and reinforce compliance knowledge throughout the Company.
Key Responsibilities:
At a high level, a Compliance Analyst supporting the CMS Governance program at Beyond works collaboratively with compliance, legal and business teams to maintain policies & procedures, manage compliance training and reporting, and document regulatory change management in support of the Company’s compliance with laws, regulations and industry guidelines. On a day-to-day basis, this involves working collaboratively with subject matter experts by:
- Drafting and/or revising the Company’s regulatory policies and procedures in a concise manner using plain language where the technical accuracy of the material is paramount;
- Scheduling periodic and as needed review of the policies and procedures by applicable stakeholders to capture regulatory, business and process change requirements of the change management process;
- Creating and/or selecting effective and efficient required compliance training content and materials for new hires and employees in applicable departments to comply with Company policies, regulatory requirements, and industry guidelines;Â
- Collaborating with compliance and legal team members to create training or retraining for employees or departments to remediate complaints or issues;
- Staying abreast of Company and industry changes and challenges in order to communicate engaging and informative content for employees through compliance micro-learning, newsletters and/or spotlights;
- Documenting and reporting regularly on the status of policy and procedure development or review, attendance and performance of employees’ required compliance training, and the regulatory change management process; and
- Performing additional compliance analyst responsibilities as needed.
What We Look For:
- Candidates with a passion for communicating to educate co-workers at all levels of the Company on compliance with laws/regulations, industry guidelines, or changes to processes due to changes in law or policy
- Excellent technical writing, documentation, and presentation skills are required
- A stickler for presenting materials accurately and succinctly in plain understandable terms, with the appropriate level of detail for the audience
- Ability to appropriately handle sensitive and confidential information
- Demonstrated initiative, self-motivation and the ability to juggle competing priorities and deadlines
Required Education and Experience:
- 2-4 years of relevant of technical writing and training experience required
- Strong preference for candidates with compliance, consumer financial services or consumer lending experience or demonstrated ability to learn while performing the job function
- Experience with Absorb or other LMS, including reporting functionality
- Experience with Google office platform, Microsoft Office suite (including Word, Powerpoint and Excel)
