A key member of our Compliance team assuming a wide range of responsibilities, all of which require critical thinking, innovation, and integrity. We are looking for someone with impeccable attention to detail, high energy, strong project management skills, outstanding oral and written communication skills, and a proven track record of success leading change management efforts cross-functionally. The Compliance Analyst supports the growth of the Compliance function by being responsible for facilitating implementation efforts associated with new regulatory requirements, conducting root cause investigations and supporting escalation inquiries, and supporting monitoring and reporting efforts led by the Compliance team. This role shall also serve as a support resource for the activities of the Compliance team. Professional compliance role responsible for supporting the Compliance program by collaborating and overseeing high risk areas to ensure that the compliance program is effective and efficient in identifying, preventing, detecting and correcting noncompliance.
What YOU will do:
Regulatory Reporting & Change Management:
- Lead project management efforts in coordination with PMO and/or IOT for Compliance initiatives that do not trigger PAT implementation but require implementation support cross functionally.
- Provide analysis, interpretation, training, and education related to requirements as needed to ensure understanding and effective implementation of compliance requirements.
- Development of compliance job aides and assisting with updates to cross functional job aides to ensure successful implementation of new regulatory requirements.
- Assist compliance team and identified business units with implementing new and/or updates to processes based on regulatory changes.
- Support Regulatory Program implementation efforts and provide backup support for research and analysis of laws, rules and regulations.
- Conduct reviews of Business readiness and conduct testing to ensure successful implementation of new regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with internal business units to ensure clarity of requirements and adherence to implementation timelines to maintain compliance posture of HMA.
- Represents the Compliance department on complex cross-functional projects, identifies key stakeholders form across the enterprise and establishes effective collaboration techniques to maintain ongoing partnership between functions.
- May collect, prepare and maintain records and related documentation for reporting to Sr. Leadership; collaborates across the compliance organization to collect and organize information into clear, accurate and effective executive reports.
- Support regulatory submissions, filings, renewals, notifications, and periodic reports related to licensed functions; compile required internal reports, perform research of licensing and reporting requirements.
Incident Response, Complaints & Escalations:
- Serve as a primary support role for investigating and documenting incidents, escalations and complaints.
- Assist with the development and execution of Compliance Programs (e.g., risk assessments, testing and monitoring activities, investigations, escalations, complaints, policy and procedures, reporting, issue reporting, escalations, training programs and corrective action plans).
- Assist with testing and monitoring of key regulations, complaint reporting and escalation and corrective actions.
- Assist with investigating and responding to complaints as necessary
- Assists Privacy Officer as needed in investigating reported privacy concerns
Compliance Audits and Risk Management:
- Assist with the automation of key compliance testing/monitoring/risk assessment activities.
- Develop and maintain KPI dashboards for Compliance programs
- Assists leadership in reviewing and responding to audit findings, recommendations, and reports, and monitors the implementation status of audit recommendations.
- Assists with proactive privacy audit and monitoring activities
- Supports root cause analyses conducted in partnership with operational SMEs and business unit leadership.
- Responds to risk findings by providing recommendations for corrective action plans and implementing corrective action plans.
- Assist in compliance audits and assessments, addressing identified issues promptly.
- Contributes to enterprise-wide risk assessments to identify and mitigate operational, financial and other risks.
- Assist in development of risk mitigation strategies and policies aligned with business objectives.
- Participate in monitoring risk exposure and reporting to relevant stakeholders.
- Implementation and monitoring of business area compliance self-assessments
Policy & Procedure Management:
- Supports regular review and audit of compliance to organizational policies and procedures
- Assists in the creation of and maintenance of governance documents & guidelines
Reporting & Communication:
- Assist with and coordinate execution of regulatory reporting mandates.
- Provide content writing support for newsletters, bulletins and both internal and external messaging.
- Support in communicating risk and compliance issues to relevant stakeholders.
- Provide Compliance Program support with audit and monitoring, corrective action plan management, data analytics and other projects to ensure proper execution of the Compliance Program workplan and priorities.
- Supports and ensures timely data gathering and reporting required to execute compliance programs/services.
- Assist in preparing regular reports and updates on the status of data governance, risk, compliance and regulatory initiatives.
Miscellaneous:
- Triages and responds timely to Compliance Ticket/support requests.
- Provides backup coverage support to Compliance Specialist and Regulatory Affairs.
Knowledge, Experience, and Key Attributes needed for Success:
- Minimum of 4+ years health care/insurance regulatory compliance related experience required.
- Bachelor's degree in related field preferred or 6+ years of relevant work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Project Management Certification desired or equivalent work experience 2+ years min.
- Process Improvement/Lean/Six Sigma training and experience.
- Strong understanding of healthcare laws and regulations. Ability to interpret healthcare laws and regulations.
- Solid risk assessment capabilities.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, think quickly, meet deadlines and adapt to various situations.
- Ability to understand complex problems, identify root causes and remain goal oriented within a dynamic environment.
- Ability to prioritize multiple work assignments simultaneously.
- Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to effectively identify, communicate, and address potential issues.
- Ability to work independently and as a team player.
- Ability to work effectively with peers, as well as business areas at all levels of the organization.
Compensation:
The base salary range for this position in the greater Seattle area is $79,000 - $90,000 and varies dependent on geography, skills, experience, education, and other job or market-related factors. Performance-based incentive bonus(es) is available. HMA is primarily a remote workforce, requires a reliable internet connection, and provides all hardware. Some roles are required onsite 1-3 days per week/month while other roles are 100% remote.
