Compliance Assistant
Job Description
WestCoast Children’s Clinic, located in Oakland, California, is a non-profit community psychology clinic that provides mental health services to Bay Area children, youth and families. The Compliance Assistant is an important member of our Quality Assurance team and plays a supportive role in ensuring adherence to Alameda County, San Francisco County, California state and Joint Commission Accreditation requirements. The Compliance Assistant aids with contract compliance efforts through completing professional credentialing, Joint Commission Survey preparation and follow up, and performing other contract requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Performing professional credential verification and setting up staff credentials in WCC’s electronic health records for clinical, Billing and QA staff.
- Completing OIG Exclusion checks to ensure that all clinical employees are legally able to bill MediCal and provide mental health services within their scope of practice.
- Auditing staff credentials monthly to reduce risk of credential non-compliance and billing errors.Â
- Providing guidance when staff credentials change and billing practices have to change.
- Assisting with preparing for Joint Commission surveys and completing necessary follow up after Joint Commission survey.
- Coordinating, tracking and following up on required Alameda County, San Francisco County and Joint Commission trainings.
- Completing Timely Access data entry into Alameda County electronic health record.
- Coordinating Alameda County and San Francisco county client satisfaction surveys.
- Investigating and responding to client grievance and appeals.Â
- Additional duties as requested by the Associate Director of QA and Compliance.
Qualifications:
- College degree preferred, and/or related administrative experience in business administration, social services, public policy, or related field.
- Previous experience with MediCal or managed care documentation, billing, and audits preferred
Competencies (Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge):
- Must possess excellent organizational skills
- Ability to multitask with superb attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team within an intensive clinical setting
- Knowledge of issues of race, class, and ethnicity and working with diverse communities
- Proven understanding of client confidentiality and HIPAA
- Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication, and writing skills
- Knowledge of MS Office Suite including Excel, PowerPoint, Google Calendar, and Google Mail on a Mac OS platform
Position Details and Compensation:
This is a part-time, hourly position starting at $26.00 per hour and includes prorated benefits, 403b and performance-based compensation plans.
