Job Description

 Ibotta is seeking a Compliance Director to join our innovative team and contribute to our mission to Make Every Purchase Rewarding. The ideal candidate will be an experienced, collaborative and results-focused compliance leader who has successfully built and implemented compliance programs that support multiple frameworks and legislative requirements impacting the business. The role will sit within the legal department.

This position is located in Denver, Colorado as a hybrid position, requiring 2 days in office. Preferred in-office hybrid days are Tuesday and Thursday. Candidates must live in the United States.

What you will be doing:

  • Sets the compliance roadmap, strategy and priorities across the organization.

  • Assists with interpreting legislation or pending legislation, analyzes internal business systems, and develops and implements controls and strategies for ensuring that all organizational operations comply with applicable laws, regulations, and standards. 

  • Leads and influences the work of employees across multiple teams to ensure effective implementation and adoption of compliance requirements. 

  • Collaborates with subject matter experts within departments to effectively execute compliance strategies.

  • Coordinates with the legal leadership to develop and implement compliance testing and auditing procedures. 

  • Reports regularly to senior leaders and the board of directors on the progress of our compliance strategy.

  • Identifies compliance vulnerabilities and takes corrective action. 

  • Designs and implements compliance training programs for employees.

What we are looking for:

  • 10 years of compliance program management experience, including 3+ years of people management experience.

  • Bachelor's degree (BS in accounting/finance, data analytics, systems/software engineering, or information management preferred) 

  • Advanced degree (JD, MBA, MS) preferred.

  • CISA, CIA, CISSP, CCSK, CIPP, CPA or equivalent certifications preferred. 

  • Extensive experience with the concepts and principles of compliance frameworks such as SOX, SOC 1, SOC 2, data privacy laws, etc.

  • Excellent knowledge of financial reporting processes.

  • Experience managing or creating compliance programs within the technology sector required.

  • Keen attention to detail and ability to work independently.

  • Ease at managing competing demands and determining top priorities autonomously. 

  • Experience working in a fast-paced, high growth environment where you are accountable for establishing new processes, procedures, or best practices.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and interact on behalf of the Senior Leadership Team with a wide range of internal stakeholders.

Additional Details:

  • This position is located in Denver, CO or with the option of full-time remote and includes competitive pay, flexible time off, benefits package (including medical, dental, vision), Lifestyle Spending Account, 401k match, and equity. Denver office perks include paid parking, bagel Thursdays, snacks and occasional meals.

  • Base compensation range: $155,000 - $195,000. This compensation range is specific to the United States labor market and may be adjusted based on actual experience. Total compensation for this role also includes a variable component in addition to base salary.
