Compliance Intern

Are you interested in working in regulatory compliance and want to learn about compliance processes at a FinTech company?
Avant is looking for a Summer Intern to join the Compliance Assurance Services team. You will be primarily responsible for supporting the Compliance Department through assurance activities, such as transactional testing and writing audit reports, and furthering development of a risks and controls framework in our GRC software.
What you do at Avant:

• Participate in on-going conversations related to the foundational aspects of our GRC platform (e.g. risks & controls)
• Link records and log assessment scores in GRC platform
• Assist in the development of compliance risk statements based on listing of applicable regulatory requirements
• Support the completion of final reports for vendor audits
• Log/track issues emanating from vendor audits in Jira
• Perform targeted regulatory testing of accounts/processes to ensure compliance with applicable regulations

• Pursuing an Bachelors in accounting, business, economics, finance, or legal studies
• Interest in understanding consumer protection laws and analyzing data
• Experience with Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace products, including using Excel and/or Google Sheets to write basic formulas
• Outstanding initiative, attention to detail, and organizational skills
• Proficient in written and verbal communication
• Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
• Confidence and willingness to learn new skills
• Undergrad or graduate students
