Compliance Operations Manager

BillionToOne's first product, UNITY is the first and only prenatal screen that directly assesses the baby's risk for common and severe inherited disorders such as cystic fibrosis, spinal muscular atrophy (SMA), and hemoglobinopathies from a single tube of blood from the pregnant mother.

BillionToOne is looking for a Compliance Operations Manager to support the operations of its compliance program.  Reporting to the General Counsel & Chief Compliance Officer, the Compliance Operations Manager works throughout the organization to support the creation of the compliance program and promote a culture of compliance.  The Compliance Operations Manager is an on-site or remote position, requires 10% travel, and reports to the General Counsel & Chief Compliance Officer.

Responsibilities:

• Support efforts to develop a culture of compliance within the organization.
• Assist in the development of a best-in-class compliance program that incorporates the seven elements of an effective compliance program and the values and mission of BillionToOne.
• Prepare compliance policies, SOPs, and guidance to support company objectives.
• Manage systems supporting the compliance program, including compliance helpline and policy and case management.
• Monitor applicable operations to ensure compliance with company policies.
• Conduct internal audits of compliance processes and implementation of related corrective actions. 
• Develop and assist with delivery of training to employees and contractors on legal and compliance matters.
• Assist general counsel in the management of external vendors and additional projects for the legal and compliance team.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in legal/compliance, business or related field required.
• 3 to 5 years’ experience in project management or functional operations role(s).
• Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in compliance function.
• Experience in development and management of compliance processes, including policy/SOP, drafting, stakeholder engagement, implementation, training and audit and monitoring.
• Experience in managing projects from initiation to completion, involving internal stakeholders and external vendors.
• Ability to build strong cross-functional relationships to achieve department and organizational goals.
• Ability to translate complex legal and regulatory requirements into simple, practical, and actionable guidance.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously from initiation to completion.
• Competent in computer skills. Familiar with Microsoft Office programs such as Access, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• High level of intensity, enthusiasm, and professionalism.

For this position, the base pay range is: $120,000-$160,000 per year
