Guild is hiring a Compliance Specialist that reports to the Senior Director of Compliance. This is a new role that will be responsible for supporting Guild’s overall member compliance efforts. The primary focus of the position is the review and approval of Guild content, to ensure alignment with Guild standards and practices for a broad range of external and internal facing materials, and will act as a key Compliance partner in guiding the creation of communications and content. The role will work cooperatively and in deep partnership with the communications, marketing, creative, product, and student services teams to ensure transparency, accuracy and accountability in all published content. Additional responsibilities will include supporting other compliance related activities as deemed necessary and appropriate. 

The Compliance Specialist will:

Content Review & Approval (50-75% time)

  • Ensure adherence to content standards and compliance requirements across various categories of content including, but not limited to:
    • Guild website, partner landing pages, and blogs
    • Thought leadership
    • PR & earned media
    • Email and SMS marketing content
    • Digital and direct mail advertising
    • Knowledge management cards
    • Product & program pages
  • Review, comment, and provide guidance on content assets to support compliance requirements while helping Guild teams achieve their objectives.
  • Build a deep understanding of the content standards and compliance requirements in order to serve as a subject matter expert for partners.
  • Act as first level compliance reviewer and approver for content assets. As required, identify and raise sensitive content to relevant Legal and Compliance partners for additional review.
  • Provide feedback to leadership on compliance concerns.
  • Apprise compliance leadership on issues and trends in content reviews.
  • Identify areas where standards and / or training require development or change to meet evolving regulatory needs or evolution of the business.

General Compliance Support

  • Assist with other initiatives, projects and day-to-day support related to other functional areas of member compliance.
  • And other duties as may be assigned

You are a strong fit for this role if you have:

Required Competencies

  • Bachelor's degree with relevant coursework required (journalism, communications, English, marketing). Advanced degree preferred.
  • At least two years of experience working in a high-volume throughput and/or fast paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to conceptualize, implement, prioritize and complete complex concurrent projects.
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail, including adherence to Guild’s content standards.
  • Experience developing and sustaining collaborative cross-functional relationships in a business or educational institution.
  • Experience building partner investment in and demonstrating the importance and value of a new system and process. 

We feel passionately about equal pay for equal work, and transparency in compensation is one vehicle to achieve that. Total compensation for this role is market competitive, including a base salary range of $60,000 - $82,500, as well as company stock options.
