Compressor Product Development Engineer

Job Description

This candidate is responsible for designing and testing new mechanical/electrical automotive A/C compressors and sub-components.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develop and sign-off prototype/production 3D component & assembly models.
• Release prototype/production 2D component & assembly drawings.
• Develop/author engineering specifications and reports.
• Set up and run development tests. Interpret test results and develop corrective actions.
• Interface with suppliers as required.
• Provide direction to suppliers as required.
• Interpret customer engineering specifications.
• Develop and maintain Bills of Materials.

Years of Experience:

• 5+ years of experience

Education:

• Bachelor or Masters in Mechanical Engineering is required.

• Creativity to innovate and develop solutions for complex problems
• Background in Component Design, Solid Mechanics, Dynamic Systems, Kinematics, Heat Transfer, and Thermodynamics
• Flexibility to work effectively as part of a global cross functional / cross discipline team
• Experience working with suppliers and customers
• Technical communication skills
• Prior exposure to drafting/drawing/CAD tools
• Experience with CAE tools (FEA, CFD, Kinematic tools)
• Time management skills
• Self-motivated, self-starter
• Ability to work with limited guidance/supervision
• Ability to manage multiple assignments
