Computer Engineer Intern

Job Summary:

The Computer Engineer Intern at Thermo King provides current college students with challenging assignments, leadership training, valuable exposure to our company's senior leaders and opportunities to network. Our 12-week summer program offers candidates Bachelor's in Computer Science / Computer Engineering exposure to variety assignments which could include: New Product Development, FMEA & DFMEA, Value Analysis/Value Engineering, Product Design, Component and Reliability Testing.

Responsibilities:

• Work with senior engineers and product managers to develop firmware and debug new or experimental embedded controllers.
• Develop scripts/code for test fixtures used in a development environment
• Assist Senior engineers with development, testing, and analysis of embedded controllers and sensor systems.
• Maintain orderly project records. Analyze, condense, and present data results and recommendations to the controls engineering team.
• Use DevOps tools to manage code, document bugs, and features.

Qualifications:

• Actively pursuing a BS or MS in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
• Undergraduate student in their junior, or senior year; or graduate student.
• Demonstrated leadership skills

Key Competencies:

• Collaborate with others to foster effective teamwork by linking own responsibilities to the team's goals and needs - zeal for new information, knowledge, and experiences
• Rapidly resolve problems to maximize customer satisfaction
• Operating test equipment such as power supplies, multimeters, and oscilloscopes.
• Experience with Linux and RTOS based embedded devices.
• Programing 32 bit micro controllers and Linux processors (STM32, Arduino, RPI, BeagleBone, NXP RT10xx, ESP32).
• Experience using system peripheral drivers such as SPI, UART, USB, and CAN to interface with remote sensors and systems.
• Knowledge of python. Experience with C, C++, Java, SQL, and LabVIEW is a plus.
• Knowledge of edge machine learning systems.
