Computer Literacy Trainer
Job Description
Position Responsibilities
- Teaching assigned computer literacy classes
- Planning, developing and implementing lesson plans
- Developing and coordinating special activities and programs for computer learners
- Creating a supportive learning environment that fosters participation and interaction
- Working with individual learners to help them achieve their learning goals
- Assisting with testing, enrollment, and orientation processes
- Assisting in the development of academic and other resources/activities to enhance to promote adult learner success
- Providing appropriate data and related reports, including attendance, program updates, and outcomes
- Provide a supportive environment that fosters learner participation and interaction
- Develop and maintain a learning environment appropriate for adult learners
- Moderate computer-based ESL training program
General responsibilities
- Continually evaluate processes and make/recommend improvements
- Assist with special projects as assigned
- Other duties as assigned

- Ability to build rapport with and be sensitive to the needs of adult learners, especially those who may have multiple barriers to social/economic success, and maintain confidentiality
- Swift and thoughtful dialogue with colleagues, learners, and affiliate institutions via multiple platforms (in-person, email, Zoom, and phone)
- Self-starter, ability to work independently
- Dependability and accountability with all projects, duties, and deadlines, especially with time pressures
Qualifications:
- High School diploma, a College degree is preferable
- At least one and preferably two to five years of experience teaching adults or other classroom experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office skills including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint as well as Gmail and Google docs suite
- Experience with Zoom platform
- Familiarity with or demonstrated ability to quickly acquire new digital tools (e.g. SharePoint)
- Prioritize and handle multiple requests in a timely and accurate fashion
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
