About Our Team

The Advanced Simulation and Computing (ASC) program at Sandia provides state-of-the-art computer simulation capabilities as part of NNSA's mission to extend the lifetime of nuclear weapons in the stockpile without underground testing. The ASC program, through its Integrated Codes (IC) sub-program element develops multi-physics simulation codes that incorporate physics and engineering models. Integral to ASC and its IC Computational Simulation Group (CSG) is the DevOps team that conducts research, development, deployment, and support on software solutions that feed into the CSG's integrated product and ecosystem. This DevOps ecosystem provides underpinning technologies which include build system theory and development for building software on advanced platforms; system-level abstraction for providing application developers uniform environments on heterogeneous platforms; advanced test/runtime frameworks for software applications' submission to queues on large HPCs, results collection and display, etc.; and distribution and packaging of software applications for installation on external systems.
