In a time of unprecedented expansion, we are seeking a Manager to oversee our small to medium size DevOps team that support specific products. In this role, you will be responsible for the strategic planning and multiyear roadmaps for each team. The position requires providing leadership and coaching to the teams as they build new services and enhance legacy services. The ideal applicant has a solid technical background, ample experience working with engineering teams and large-scale practical experience with infrastructure platform container frameworks.Â
A day in the office looks like this:Â
- Managing the continuous improvement of monitoring/alerting capabilities and incident managementÂ
- Embracing a DevOps mentality and ensuring the model’s success, building a culture of shared responsibility and transparency that leads to higher quality and quicker delivery of outputÂ
- Leverage industry best practices and experience to ensure that security is baked into deliverables from the start and that the project/program fully embraces a DevOps, DevSecOps and “shift-left” mentalityÂ
- Managing and growing an enterprise DevOps/CloudOps team
- Understanding our required frameworks and regulatory rules to consistently achieve success and meet requirements in all areas of your responsibility and influenceÂ
- Building and evolving monitoring and analytics systems to evaluate uptime/availability, usage and performance metricsÂ
- Driving adoption of industry-standard methodologies and practices for infrastructure as code, deployment, observability, load and resiliency testing, and reliabilityÂ
- Advocating adoption of Agile new ways of working and a continuous improvement framework to drive efficiency and enable business agilityÂ
- Ensuring the team workstreams and projects are well managed, and that appropriate tracking and reporting are undertakenÂ
- Implementing a communications strategy and keeping a business-value focusÂ
- Leading incident response efforts, including coordinating with other teams to investigate and resolve incidentsÂ
Qualifications
- BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical discipline or commensurate relevant experience.Â
- 10+ yrs overall experiecne, atleast 1yr experience in people managementÂ
- 5+ years of experience in a CloudOps role
- 4+ years of experience with IaaS Platforms (AWS and/or Azure preferred).Â
- Proficient in automation using Batch, Powershell, Ruby, Python, or shell scripts
- Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Jenkins, or Ansible
- Experience with Networking, Routing, DNS & Load Balancing
- Proven ability to learn new concepts and remain up to date with new technologies.Â
- Deep understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle, including CI/CD pipeline architecture and processes in addition to automation tools (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, Terraform, GitLab, etc.)
- Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.Â
- Experience in agile development processes.Â
- Experience with creating SQL scripts and administering PostgreSQL.Â
- Strong experience with modern application development workflows and version control systems like GitHub, Gitlab, or Bitbucket.Â
