Configuration Analyst (ServiceNow)

BASIC PURPOSE: The purpose of the Configuration Process Administrator is to serve as a Configuration Management Database (CMDB) subject matter expert for the ServiceNow platform across the Love's enterprise and retail environments.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage and enhance the CMDB and its relationships, ensuring the health of the data and structure within the CMDB
• Integrate and maintain data sharing between SN and other sources as it pertains to the CMDB
• Validate the accuracy of data imported into the CMDB through discovery and other means
• Coordinate with other ITSM process owners to ensure proper CMDB integration
• Develop and document best practices to govern the use of the CMDB
• Develop and deliver reports on the health and utilization of the CMDB
• Maintain CI class, attribute, and relationship properties for all CI's
• Collaborate with CI Owners and CMDB Librarians to troubleshoot issues reported with discovery as well as others affecting data quality within the CMDB
• Continue to develop the organization's expertise in the Configuration Management processes and methods
• Assist in the testing and implementation of SN version upgrades to leverage functionality from new product releases
• Identify problems, research solutions and make changes to improve functionality
• Serve as the back-up to the primary SN System Admin
• Handle afterhours maintenance and support needs for the SN platform
• Various additional duties as needed and/or assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Education
  • HS Diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field preferred
  • ITIL Foundation and/or ServiceNow Certifications a plus
• Experience
  • Experience with ServiceNow Configuration Mgmt
  • Experience with the creation, configuration and maintenance of the CMDB
  • Experience with scripting tools such as Java, HTML, APIs, XML a plus

• Typical Physical Demands
  • On-call availability including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping
  • Lifting and transporting of heavy to moderately heavy objects, such as computers and peripherals
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and tools
  • Requires normal range of hearing and vision
