York is looking for a Configuration Manager to lead the implementation and daily execution of our PLM system. The ideal candidate has experience in implementation and improvement of PLM systems and configuration management processes in an aerospace environment. In this role you will shape the culture around knowledge management and product definition at York. You will be empowered to shape enterprise-wide procedures with the aim of balancing quality, agility and the appropriate level of control required for a production environment. RESPONSIBILITIES
York is looking for a Configuration Manager to lead the implementation and daily execution of our PLM system. The ideal candidate has experience in implementation and improvement of PLM systems and configuration management processes in an aerospace environment. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of our PLM system, ensuring speedy setup, driving user training, and ensuring effective process change management across engineering and operations.
- Work with the systems engineering, mechanical design and electrical design engineering teams to author, release, and maintain our product and mission BOMs, program specific Configuration Management Plans and document management plans for key program artifacts.
- Work with engineering, program management, operations, and supply chain to define an enterprise change management process, interfaces with issue tracking, and continuous improvement processes.
- Work with engineering and IT to ensure configuration management processes are effectively implemented in systems and tools.
- Work with leadership to strategically build a company culture embracing configuration and knowledge management and train the enterprise on relevant best practices.
- Work with project teams to identify configuration items, process releases and changes, and provide relevant status accounting reports (KPIs).
- Facilitate configuration change control boards and provide the chief engineer and other stakeholders change status accounting, reports, and analytics to use for continuous process improvement.
- Own and maintain the design configuration to ensure accuracy for the enterprise. Ensure configuration control board effectivity dispositions are properly implemented.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 7+ years of experience with configuration management in aerospace programs, including CM experience in developmental phases.
- 5+ years of experience executing configuration management in software systems, ideally a Product Lifecycle Management system, including workflow driven methodologies.
- Experience with process development and organizational change management
- Ability to read engineering drawings, ICDs, and other technical documentation.
- Strong communication skills for interfacing with the broader engineering, business teams, vendors, partners, customers and the IT community.
BONUS QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with model-based definition for type design data
- Experience with SolidWorks and Acumatica
- Experience with git
- Experience working in an agile development methodology
