Who you are:

We are always looking for amazing talent who can contribute to our growth and deliver results! Geotab is seeking a Connected Vehicle Specialist who will work in close partnership with a variety of external stakeholders, participating on several initiatives which advance our broader connected vehicle interoperability & cybersecurity. The Connected Vehicle Specialist understands Geotab business end to end and will exercise their entrepreneurial spirit, seeking MVP/PoC to smooth secured access to vehicle data and create broader industry awareness of Geotab’s services suite – via both in-person and remote collaboration at applicable events/conferences, working groups, and industry associations of interest. What you’ll do:

As a Connected Vehicle Specialist you will serve as an ambassador to further Geotab’s interests within the automotive cyber security community and the broader digital transportation universe. You will be responsible for identifying and escalating potential new business opportunities and current emerging cybersecurity issues (e.g., to Product and or Security teams as applicable) to ensure overall advancement of security/protection of Geotab and future-proofing products/services.

How you’ll make an impact:

  • Be familiar with and maintain a current end-to-end understanding of Geotab's hardware, SaaS, data infrastructure, and security programs.
  • Engage various external stakeholders at on-site industry and government conferences/seminars, serving as an expert on the Geotab ecosystem. Closely monitor industry trends/shifts in regulatory governance as it relates to broader vehicle connectivity – escalate critical developments to senior leadership as applicable to Geotab’s strategic interests (e.g., compliance with industry safety/cybersecurity, industry best practices, and data availability.
  • Assist Geotab Connected Vehicle Lead on PoC, SoW, and other secured interoperability endeavors.
  • Actively participate in external collaboration involving associations such as; NMFTA, Auto-ISAC, and US DOT VOLPE + Transport Canada.
  • Operate as a senior level Geotab technical designate on select standard fronts as deemed applicable by management, across professional standards bodies such as; SAE, ISO, IEEE, W3C/COVESA.
  • Over the course of external collaboration, utilize standard metrics for evaluating risks, and knowledge of compliance/standard metrics as applicable to Geotab. Promote adoption of standard methodologies and conduct risk assessments to identify design flaws and software issues.
  • Liaise closely with Geotab’s Security team to ensure they are informed of emerging security related discussions from external collaboration activities, and bring any Geotab security feedback to the same external communities. Review and propose improvements to workflows, policies and practices.
  • Support Geotab global strategic initiatives.

What you’ll bring to this role:

  • 3-5 years of technical-business experience with a preference for a focus on Solutions Integration-Engineering.
  • 2+ years experience in technical sales or an account management role.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time. Ability to travel internationally.
  • A willingness to learn about Geotab’s hardware and software portfolio; OEM Integrations, GO hardware (harnesses, IOXs), and MyGeotab SaaS.
  • Experience with security evaluation/analysis (e.g., security code reviews, providing risk assessments for vulnerabilities discovered, etc.) or performing web development (e.g., network protocol analysis, debugging, virtualization platforms and techniques, scripting/programming) within a technical organization is an asset.
  • Familiar with programming languages e.g. C# on .NET Core, TypeScript, JavaScript, C is an asset.
  • Data analysis skills to leverage data to improve monitoring. Nice to have: proficiency in SQL (Google BigQuery).
  • Must stay relevant to technology and should have the flexibility to adapt to the growing technology and market demands (i.e., current and evolving risk landscape, cyber-security industry best practices, systems integration/authentication, commercial cryptography among others).
  • Automotive or telecommunications background beneficial but not required.
