Job Title:Construction Accountant Location:Midtown Manhattan, NY (close to Penn Station) Employment Type:Full-Time | On-site / Hybrid About Us: We are a well-established general contractor specializing in commercial and municipal construction projects in the New York metropolitan area. We are seeking a detail-orientedConstruction Accountantto join our finance team and ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance in all accounting operations. Key Responsibilities: • Manage the General Ledger, ensuring all entries are accurate and properly documented. • Perform bank reconciliations and maintain account accuracy. • Oversee Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes, including vendor payments, subcontractor invoices, and client billing. • Prepare AIA billing and other construction-related billing formats. • Coordinate and execute month-end close procedures, including accruals and financial reporting. • Assist in tracking project costs, change orders, and budget-to-actual performance. • Collaborate with project managers and executives to ensure timely and accurate financial data. Qualifications: • 5+ years of accounting experience in the construction industry required. • Strong knowledge of GL, AP/AR, bank reconciliation, and month-end close. • Experience with AIA billing and construction payment applications. • Proficiency in Procore and QuickBooks a plus. • Strong Excel skills and attention to detail. • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
