Consultant, Data Practice

Position Summary

As Putnam’s Data Practice Consultant, you will lead and manage a team of Junior Consultants, Data Analysts, and Data Scientists to solve complex and high impact analytical problems for biopharma clients.

In this role, you will work with the project teams on big data analytics, including:

• Interact with clients to understand key business needs and strategic problems to be answered
• Break down complex strategic problems into structured, analytical problems that constitute the core of the team’s work
• Lead the daily operations of the team in executing and synthesizing analyses into key findings and actionable recommendation
• Prepare and deliver key findings and recommendations against key business problem to clients
• Coach junior Data Associates on project execution and management

Our offices are located in the vibrant neighborhoods of Boston’s Back Bay (HQ), San Francisco’s Union Square, and New York City, and globally in London.

Desired Skills and Experience

• The ideal candidate for the Data Practice Consultant position is a highly intelligent and self-motivated individual with a strong work ethic and excellent team skills
• Proven analytic experiences, problem-solving skills, presentation, team management experience and a team-oriented attitude are essential.
• A working knowledge of the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry
• 3-5 years professional work experience
• Relevant analytical/programming experiences in life science industry including:
• Experiences in healthcare datasets (e.g., Komodo, IQVIA, Symphony, Truven, Optum, Flatiron, Charge Master, Lab, Provider and Payer data)

• Data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI, Qlik Sense)
• SQL and Python/R/SAS and Excel (Power Query, VBA) is not required but preferred
• Statistical testing and machine learning models (e.g., Non-parametric tests, supervised and unsupervised learning, automation learning) is not required but preferred
