Consulting Cybersecurity Engineer

Location: Hybrid work from home and/or office if in AZ. Eastern or Central time zone is preferred, but not required.

Are you an experienced Cybersecurity Professional who understands the growing role of Cybersecurity as part of our client’s everyday business and seeks to expand our capabilities to better serve them? At MicroAge, our Cybersecurity Architect is a primary technical resource for our clients and the field sales organization, working closely with Account Executives & Managers and Solutions Architects to secure and grow business opportunities within new and existing client accounts. The Cybersecurity Architect will combine industry technical and extensive cybersecurity knowledge with consulting skills to advise the sales team, address the specific needs of our clients, continue to evolve our Cybersecurity practice, and increase MicroAge’s credibility in the marketplace.

Responsibilities you’ll have as a Consulting Cybersecurity Engineer:

Key Areas of Focus: This position is responsible for driving solution sales and supporting sales by consulting with client’s technical and management teams about all thing’s cybersecurity & compliance.

Drive Client Engagement

  • Consult directly with clients, vendor partners, MicroAge account managers, solution architects, delivery teams, and MicroAge executives to provide an exceptional client experience.
  • Develop, maintain, and expand positive and trusting client relationships for the purpose of ensuring MicroAge is positioned to provide outcome-based solutions and expand our business opportunities across our client’s organizational components.
  • Partner with leaders and teams across functions to identify, sell, and implement successful solutions.
  • Help maintain key technical relationships with partners.

Pre-Sales and Technical Support

  • Build strong relationships with sales team members.
  • Identify security design gaps in existing and proposed client architectures and recommend changes or enhancements.
  • Consult on more complicated opportunities that may involve customization or the integration of multiple technology solutions.
  • Recognize and communicate current and emerging security threats.
  • Design security architecture elements to mitigate threats as they emerge.
  • Leverage professional contacts within the organization and community.

Solution Architect Enablement

  • Assist with the Cybersecurity technical enablement program for all solutions.
  • Build collaboration among team members by sharing information and resources.
  • Participate in an education program to build Cybersecurity awareness.
  • Provide guidance on Cybersecurity Technology and Services sales strategies.

Cybersecurity Technical SME

  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of data center, and cloud-related, security threats and the technical impact to client business environments.
  • Consult on the status and future direction Cybersecurity technology
  • Provide deep expertise in cybersecurity solutions available for our clients.
  • Articulate the impact that risk has on enterprise IT.
  • Maintain general datacenter technology knowledge.

Cybersecurity Practice Expansion

  • Research and assess security technology, explore new innovations, and test new and emerging technologies.
  • Assist in the development of new Solutions offerings.
  • Recognize and pursue opportunities, target markets, and go-to-market strategies to develop business.
  • Differentiate MicroAge solutions by features, technical differentiators, and markets.
  • Design security architecture elements to mitigate threats as they emerge.
  • Align solutions to cybersecurity frameworks.
  • Develop new technical solutions to solve evolving business risk and compliancy needs.
  • Align with all practice areas based on experience and expertise.

Requirements

What knowledge, skills, and abilities you need to be successful:

  • 5+ years of relevant cybersecurity technical experience is required.
  • Prior networking and or coding experience is a plus
  • Degree in Business/IT or related field or relevant work experience is preferred
  • Candidates must demonstrate deep understanding of cybersecurity security threats and mitigation technologies and must possess an ability to relate these threats to various client business environments

What technical qualifications we require:

  • At least one of the following professional certifications professional certifications such CISSP, CISM, CEH, OSCP, CISSP, CISA, CISM, CRISC or others.
  • Certification with one or more cybersecurity technology solutions.

Personal qualities best for this role:

  • Ability to listen and communicate effectively with vendors, prospects, clients, Account Managers, Solution Architects, MicroAge Consultants, and management.
  • Ability to build relationships with and influence other functional areas.
  • Strong presentation, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Process-oriented with strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong relationships in the cybersecurity community within the MicroAge region.
  • Ability to travel within MicroAge territory and beyond as needed.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
