JOB DESCRIPTION:
This role will define, lead, and implement PMO based projects and initiatives related to methodology, process, and tooling. Additionally, this role will also provide leadership, facilitation, and support for cross technology team crisis type events driving them to quick resolution. The individual in this role will; work closely with leaders and team members across the technology organization and be required to act with a sense of urgency and accountability.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Performs a combination of duties in accordance with departmental guidelines:

  • Crisis Leadership / Facilitation - Provides consistent facilitation, leadership, and reporting to leadership for cross technology, high visibility, quick resolution crisis-work as needed
  • Facilitate multiple daily calls, capture and track updates and action items and keep the leadership informed on progress and resolution.
  • Coordinate across functional tech leaders and their teams to define crisis-response work, schedule to deliver, and ensure execution of assigned work.
  • Facilitate retrospectives / reviews for cause of crisis, evaluation of performance of response team, and crisis process overall.


Perform project management for PMO Governance projects:

  • Develops, plans and schedules projects and coordinates the activities of the area with other managers in the IT function.
  • Communicates effectively with project team and leadership and motivates and encourages team members to complete the tasks at hand.
  • Track project expenses, ensure adherence to budgetary constraints, and provide financial insights to leadership and other stakeholders.


Support ad-hoc analysis and leadership requests, including but not limited to:

  • Collaborate in scenario reviews and analysis to provide information to CNA Leaders.
  • Drive innovation and the adoption of new technologies or processes that can enhance portfolio, product, and project delivery efficiency and effectiveness.


May perform additional duties as assigned.
Reporting Relationship:
Typically reports to Director or above.
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

  • Proven record of leading teams in IT delivery, including integrating and balancing priorities, work activities and resources for the benefit of multiple key stakeholders.
  • Advanced working knowledge of end-to-end technology processes, operating models, compliance, controls and management practices.
  • Strong ability to present and contextualize information and data that can be consumed by senior executives.
  • Ability to explain technical jargon in simplified terms.
  • Effectively work in a matrix environment and influence both upward and cross-functionally.
  • Ability to engage resources (people, material, support) to eliminate barriers; orchestrate multiple activities to accomplish a goal; utilize resources effectively and efficiently.
  • Translate strategy to roadmap and execute independently; design and implement plans to monitor progress and results against strategic goals.
  • Ability to think analytically, critically and creatively in an outcome-based and data driven model to identify viable options from conceptualization to execution with continuous improvement mindset.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with peers, clients, IT management, and subordinates in a cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to act with a sense of urgency and accountability to drive quick actions and results Leadership and influence to identify and engage relevant stakeholders required to drive resolution in emergency situations.
  • Strong understanding of disaster recovery processes, risk assessment methodologies, business impact analysis, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Provides comprehensive project health checks during planning and execution to surface and manage critical project risks.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and work independently to achieve team goals.
  • Preferred insurance industry knowledge.


Education & Experience

  • Typically, a minimum of five years of related work experience in supporting strategic projects for the IT function.
  • PMP and/or SAFe LPM certifications preferred but not required with related hands-on delivery experience.
  • At least 5+ years of experience in developing presentations for executive audiences.
  • Prior Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline, or related work experience. Advanced degree preferred.
