Consulting Engineer

The Role

ONYX Insight is a growing technology and engineering organisation in the renewable energy sector. Our advanced sensing, software and machine learning products are deployed on wind turbines around the world.

We’re looking for a Consulting Engineer to join our UK team. This is a chance for the successful candidate to expand their skills & experience in the Renewable Energy industry by delivering a technical consultancy service to wind farm operations and maintenance.

What you’ll do

• Deliver technical consultancy services in the areas of wind farm operations and maintenance

• Complete investigations and Root Cause Analysis (RCA)

• Undertake data analysis to support improvements to wind farm operations

• Deliver site work as part of technical due diligence or engineering projects.

• Scope and specify consultancy projects, working closely with the commercial team and engineering managers.

• Deliver consultancy projects, both desk-based and in the field

• Provide technical support to key customers to support regional growth

What you’ll have

• Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering subject

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in technical roles in industry (mechanical or electrical)

• Good communication and presentation skills - ability to prepare and deliver high quality reports and presentations

• An interest in hands-on and theoretical aspects of engineering. Eager to learn about wind turbine technology and the wind industry in general

• Ability to work on-site and at height in wind turbines, both onshore and offshore. With the relevant GWO (Global Wind Organisation) qualifications.

• Works effectively to deadlines with minimum supervision; strong problem-solving skills; collaborates well with colleagues regionally and globally

• Fluency in English both written and spoken. A second European language is also desirable (Spanish, German, French)

• Right to work in the chosen location
