Lending at Valon

Valon is scaling up its mortgage lending business, which aims to provide Valon homeowners the ability to access low-cost, streamlined mortgage loans and give Valon partners tools they need to retain customers. As a member of the Lending Department, you will make it faster, easier, and cheaper for homeowners to get loans by reinventing the homeowner’s journey. We are looking for experienced and innovative individuals who are eager to transform the mortgage industry for the better by building our team and business.

About this Role

The Consumer Direct Mortgage Loan Officer will provide loan solutions for existing and prospective customers of Valon Mortgage. This individual will report to the Originations Manager and be responsible for providing best-in-class customer service to support Valon’s strategic goals. The primary objective of this role will be to recapture future purchase and refinance loans for customers with mortgages within Valon’s servicing portfolio, strengthening both customer and investor relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Recommend loan solutions to Valon’s existing portfolio of servicing and prospective customers sourced through strategic initiatives
  • Refer products and develop solutions tailored to customers’ specific goals
  • Be the primary point of contact throughout the lending journey with Valon
  • Collect and analyze customer financial documentation as required by investor guidelines
  • Analyze required documentation and disclosures for accuracy and compliance
  • Manage customer pipeline to maintain efficiency, meeting required pull-through ratios and production targets
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-team members to move milestones forward efficiently
  • Escalate customer concerns to management to ensure the customer is presented with timely solutions

Ideal Background

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • Comprehensive knowledge of federal regulations, including RESPA, TILA, ECOA, TRID, and CFPB
  • Thorough understanding of the underwriting process as well as agency and investor requirements
  • Experience with industry technology (e.g. DU, LP, Encompass, CRM)
  • Strong communicator with excellent writing abilities
  • High integrity with strong ethical values
  • Team player with ability to work effectively with cross-team members
  • Eager to join a highly dynamic team and play a role in a high-growth, transformative project

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3+ years of mortgage origination experience
  • 2+ years of consumer direct mortgage experience
  • NMLS eligibility throughout employment
  • Active state licenses per NMLS
