Job Summary:

We are seeking a Researcher with strong communication, collaboration, and analytical skills to join our expanding Consumer Insights team. As a Consumer Insights Researcher, you will collaborate with cross-functional groups and employ creative problem-solving skills to translate complex business questions into actionable research designs and recommendations. You will listen to and empathize with our consumers, summarizing key themes and actionable insights to support the growth of new products and services across NRG.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage Market Research & User Experience (UX) Research projects across NRG.
  • Lead stakeholders to develop clear, actionable, business objectives.
  • Translate business objectives into appropriate, actionable qualitative and quantitative market research designs and methodologies.
  • Design, program, conduct, analyze and report results of qualitative and quantitative in-house research efforts.
  • Identify and utilize the latest technology, tools & platforms to get accurate, rapid, and meaningful consumer insights.
  • Develop and manage research material & stimuli including questionnaires, interview guides, concepts, and prototypes.
  • Manage external market research suppliers/vendors when required, in all phases of the research process.

Working Conditions:

  • 100% remote, with occasional visits required to Houston HQ for team meetings and corporate events.
  • Some overtime is required as special projects arise.
  • Minimal travel.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience conducting and analyzing qualitative and quantitative market research, within a market research vendor or sophisticated client-side organization.
  • Training and/or some experience in designing, conducting, and analyzing UX Research efforts.
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising, Business, Social Sciences, or related field.
  • You must reside in the United States to be eligible for this position.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Experience moderating qualitative research, both online and in-person is a bonus.
  • Knowledge of each stage of the Design Thinking process (Empathy, Define, Ideate, Prototype, Test).
  • Experience with the application and use of online whiteboards for collaborative efforts.

  • Collaborate: Work alongside and across business units and design teams to answer research questions.
  • Empathy: Ability to understand consumer expectations, frustrations, goals, and reasoning processes to develop solutions to real needs.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to translate complex business issues into achievable research learning objectives and actionable research designs.
  • Communication: Ability to interpret complex research results, translate them into practical business implications and recommended actions, and succinctly present insights/recommendations to internal stakeholders and leadership teams.
  • Professional Development: Desire for continuous learning of new Market Research & UX Research techniques and platforms/software.
