Consumer Market Sales Project Administrator

Boise or Lewiston, Idaho

Primary Job Purpose

This position designs, manages and implements the development of sales operational projects. Interacts with all levels of management, internal and external customers such as clients agents, and government officials and outside consultants. Supports and facilitates divisional and cross-divisional committees. Performs project management, team leadership, business process analysis and research and design for purposes of project completion.

In addition, the Sales Project Admin Senior leads or facilitates divisional and cross-divisional committees.

General Functions and Outcomes
  • Designs, manages and implements division level projects and administrative policies and procedures related to specific project areas.
  • Manages the design and control of reporting systems unique to assigned projects. Controls and reviews all activity.
  • Prepares and submits Service Requests and Business Cases for approval by appropriate corporate committees.
  • Reviews project mandates and directives to determine overall project approach and impact on administrative and IT systems. Ensures project tasks and objectives are compatible with administrative and system capabilities.
  • Performs team leadership as part of project management responsibilities. Makes task assignments to project team members and monitors compliance with all project due dates.
  • Interacts, coordinates and communicates with all levels of management, internal and external customers such as clients, agents, government officials and outside consultants in order to ensure effective use of systems and processes, provide project updates, and ensure coordination of activities for efficient implementation.
  • Works with appropriate personnel to ensure that all new processes and procedures are clearly documented by time of actual implementation.
  • Supports and serves on divisional and cross-divisional committees as requested.
  • Responsible for writing and supporting the development of documents regarding assigned projects, including work plans, progress reports, data analysis reports and project outcome reports.
  • May assist and/or lead preparations for compliance audits.
  • Makes recommendations about new or existing projects.
  • Provides process improvement consultation, facilitation and management for targeted projects including defining customer requirements, identifying systems improvements, and recommending actions.
  • May develops and implements training programs.
  • May act as testing coordinator.
  • May develop and coordinate special events.
  • Leads, designs, manages and implements division and corporate level projects and administrative policies and procedures related to specific project areas.
  • Identify and presents organizational, procedural, and operational changes to staff.
  • Work independently and with teams. Strong team player with ability to work within and lead matrix teams, negotiate and resolve complex and sensitive project and team issues with diplomacy and persuasiveness, while inspiring and promoting teamwork.
  • Leads and serves on divisional and cross-divisional committees as requested.

Minimum Requirements
  • Comprehensive knowledge of health insurance, including sales processes, terminology, operational flow and data requirements.
  • Prior experience in report preparation, project documentation or policy and procedure writing including ability to organize, analyze and review statistical data and write concise relevant communications.
  • Ability to coordinate activities with all levels of staff and external agencies through clear and concise verbal and written communication skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of the interrelationships between Sales and the operations of other divisions.
  • Familiarity with agent and consultant-driven distribution systems found in insurance markets.
  • Demonstrated analytical ability to identify problems, develop solutions and implement a chosen course of action.
  • Ability to organize, plan, prioritize and develop multiple projects within time constraints.
  • Ability to negotiate and resolve complex and sensitive project and team issues with diplomacy and persuasiveness.
  • Leadership skills with the ability to direct activities of others both individually and within a project team setting.
  • Ability to work under pressure, availability to travel and work extended shifts as necessary.
  • Demonstrated ability to use MS Office products and other corporate software.
  • Demonstrated experience with project management methodologies and practices, specifically in leading cross-functional teams.

Normally to be proficient in the competencies listed above

The Sales Project Admin Senior would have an undergraduate degree in Business or related field and a minimum of six years of experience in health care administration, project management, sales of healthcare or related products or equivalent combination of education and experience. Master's degree in a business field preferred.

Required Licenses, Certifications, Registration, Etc.

May require a valid state driver's license.
