Most content marketing and communications professionals would agree that a typical day is difficult to define. As a Content and Communications Marketing Manager at Apogee, you will be wearing two hats: writing content that converts and executing a proactive communications strategy and editorial calendar that encompasses PR, AR, social media, and internal communications to capitalize on the robust content you will create.

This position works very closely with the VP of Marketing. Regular activities include writing blog posts and case studies, producing podcasts, collaborating on e-books, crafting infographics, managing press release creation, preparing media presentations, crafting compelling LinkedIn content, preparing abstracts and presentations for events, and creating internal communications.

Apogee is headquartered in Austin, TX and we're open to hiring remotely for this position.

Requirements

You will:
  • Tell stories. Write, write, write. You will write and then work with our marketing agencies to produce core and modular content in multiple formats: blog posts, emails, infographics, e-books, podcasts, case studies, videos, press releases, LinkedIn posts and more. Your writing will come alive visually with the help of our agency partners, and you will have a strong storytelling partner in your VP of Marketing.
  • Plan, implement, manage, and measure the PR and social media programs that are integrated into campaigns that drive brand awareness, corporate thought leadership, product launches, and demand for Apogee services.
  • Direct and manage the communications agency partner work and output.
  • Design and create relevant and compelling content for media announcements, media kits, and LinkedIn.
  • Collaborate with the VP of Marketing to develop and implement PR strategies, policies, and procedures, including spokespeople training, how to respond to reporter inquiries, and issue/crisis communications playbooks and response.
  • Measure and provide reports, insights, and data-driven recommendations on PR and social campaigns.
  • Cultivate long-term relationships with higher ed journalists, thought leaders, and influencers; communications managers at customer campuses; industry analysts.
  • Produce content for speaking engagements, including abstracts/speaking proposals, presentations, and social media posts.
  • Work closely with the VP of Marketing, HR, and the CEO to craft and create internal communications and initiatives that will foster employee engagement.
  • Serve as the CEO's communications developer, crafting important emails to all employees, LinkedIn posts, and other duties as assigned.
  • Launch, write, and deliver an internal monthly newsletter that highlights what's happening at Apogee.

You have:
  • 7+ years prior experience working in a content marketing or communications role, preferably in a higher ed institution or a company that serves higher education
  • BA in journalism or marketing
  • Superior writing skills - multiple writing samples required, including sample press releases, blog posts, social media posts, and other types of content that show you are prolific and know how to write for today's buyers and their attention spans
  • Proven knowledge creating core pieces of content that can be modularized and amplified in snackable pieces
  • Proven success designing and executing internal and external communications strategies
  • Higher ed experience and being up to date on industry trends is a plus
  • Ability to work nights and weekends during events or if a communications issue or crisis arises


The salary range for this position is $100,000-$120,000 depending on experience.
