Content and Instructional Specialist, Spanish - Contract
Job Description
Amplify is seeking a Spanish Language Arts (SLA) Content and Instructional Specialist to help develop core curricular materials for bilingual elementary students. Our small, highly collaborative team develops lessons that bring rich, standards-aligned domains of knowledge into bilingual classrooms, using those domains to engage students, build literacy skills, and develop those skills into close, careful reading; writing, speaking, and listening for diverse audiences and purposes; and pursuing a deep curiosity about the world. To do this, we need people who 'get' both text and elementary students, who are ready to think creatively about critical literacy skills, who possess a deep understanding of standards-aligned instruction, and who have an impeccable eye for detail.
This is a Contract role expected to run for approximately 6 months
Responsibilities:
- Work with a bilingual team to craft lessons that support students at all levels, K-5
- Collaborate with designers, developers, and other content producers to bring lessons to life
- Work on a large, multi-faceted project with a series of steps and deadlines
Basic Qualifications:
- BA in Education, Spanish, or Humanities field
- 3+ years bilingual elementary education experience
- Experience crafting challenging and engaging Spanish lessons/curricula
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and balance work on multiple projects
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience crafting curricula that integrates different genres, technologies, and media
- Experience instructing a diverse, bilingual range of learners
- Widely read, with strong reading skills
- Experience working collaboratively
- Strength in written and verbal communication in Spanish (Native level is preferred)
- Acute attention to detail
- Comfort with classroom technology
