Job Description
Fearless is looking for an  Content Design Intern to add to our diverse team of 250+ employees (and counting!).
What you’ll be doing
We’re looking to change the world by building software with a soul, and we want your help.
Fearless’ internship program provides college students and recent graduates with real-world experience in and knowledge of the government tech industry. This 10-week program is a full-time, paid, hybrid internship that will give you not just technical skills, but a broad variety of professional skills, such as interviewing, creating resumes, and networking for job readiness.Â
The Content Design Intern will co-design solutions to strategic initiatives in support of the Director of Design. The Content Design Intern will do this by collaborating with designers and other technologists within Fearless to apply content design best practices and craft simple, clear, and easy to understand content — such as “frameworks” — about our services and practice areas. You should apply for this if you’re curious about a career in content design, content strategy, or user research.

- This is a hybrid opportunity. Our offices are located is Baltimore. Parking passes will be provided.

Responsibilities and Contributions:
- Works under the guidance of Design Practice Director to support the department's success.Â
- Participates in meetings with users and stakeholders to better understand the user and organizational needs and goals.
- Contributes solutions to mature the team’s content design standards.
- Co-designs with plain language content that is simple, clear, easy to understand.
- Contributes to project frameworks or playbooks for internal and external purposes.
- Meets project deliverables.
Essential Skills, Experience, and Competencies:
Must-Have Skills:
- A portfolio of work representing completed courses or bootcamps in an area related to writing, design, communications, marketing, psychology, computer science or other relevant fields.
- Knowledge of technical writing, content strategy, product copywriting, and/or how-to documentation.
- The ability to write in plain language that is optimized for the web.
Icing-on-the-Cake SkillsÂ
- Visual design competencies, and the ability to use style guides to produce graphics, layouts, and materials for print and digital.Â
Compensation:
We believe in paying people fairly, so we've established a compensation model that ensures everyone at Fearless — regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, disability, religion, age, nationality, or negotiation skills — is given equal pay for equal work.
- Hourly rate is $18/Hr.

- Introduction Interview - Introduction to Fearless, the opportunity, and your skills.
- Technical Interview - This is where we get into the nitty gritty of the project. During the Technical Interview, you’ll be interviewed by our Functional Leads and/or the team’s Project Lead to make sure your skills align with the project requirements.
