Content Designer - Video and Multimedia Intern

Introduction
As a Content Designer focused on videos and other multimedia resources you will create compelling customer-facing videos that help the user explore understand implement and manage IBM’s portfolio of software. You will understand our technology and create videos and tutorials that help our customers learn about our products to complement written technical documentation. Through this work you will apply User Experience Design Thinking and Information Architecture methods.

Your Role and Responsibilities
What You’ll Do:

• Create videos and tutorials such as designing and developing engaging and creative video highlights and tutorials for our products in Data and AI
• Create videos that are both screen recordings (How to) and conceptual (animation)
• Work with the content design organization to create innovative ways to teach the end-user about complicated concepts and processes
• Support new product releases with videos or tutorials about new features or other important offerings working with content design and product management
• Maintain video library and make updates as the user interface changes
• Work with technical writers to find opportunities to complement technical topics with videos

This role requires at least 20 hours of availability per week.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• Experience in solving complex user problems through videos tutorials or other interactive content
• Experience with the Adobe Suite of video development products
• Experience with Camtasia
• Excellent listening written verbal communication skills storytelling and documentation skills
• Analytical creative and strategic thinker – able to develop innovative solutions to business problems
• Hands-on expertise in video development including storyboarding and explaining complex concepts through videos
• Expertise in collaborating with designers writers and other stakeholders

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• A portfolio of previous video work is an asset
• Bachelor’s Degree in Design (visual interaction user experience or HCI) or related field
• Experience designing for complex systems.
