Content Developer: Data Science (Contract; Part time)

About the role:

We are seeking a talented and innovative person with a strong background in the data industry and  with a proven experience in participating in, organizing or conducting datathons or similar data science competitions. The primary responsibility of this role will be to design and write engaging datathon-style challenges in the context of the retail and finance sector.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create Datathon-style challenges: Leverage your expertise in data science and datathon experience to conceptualize and design captivating challenges for participants. These challenges should encompass real-world scenarios, diverse datasets, and problem statements that encourage creative problem-solving.
• Curate Datasets : Collaborate with subject matter experts to identify and curate relevant datasets for each datathon challenge. Ensure the datasets are of high quality, appropriate for the problem statement, and aligned with the participants' skill levels.
• Create and Maintain Challenge Documentation: Prepare clear and comprehensive documentation for each datathon challenge. This documentation should include detailed instructions, evaluation criteria(rubric), and any specific rules or guidelines.
• Integrate Challenge Content into Learning Platforms: Work closely with our content team to integrate the created datathon challenges into our platform. Verify that the challenges are accessible and function seamlessly for participants.
• Engage in peer review class materials for content, grammar, and spelling.
• Collaborate with Advisors, subject matter experts, and internal Correlation One team to deliver high quality content.
• Ensure all authored content meets Correlation One’s content quality standards and authoring guidelines. 
• Provide teaching assistant support when needed.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

• 3+ years of combined experience in Data Engineering, Data Science and Data Analytics.
• Strong command of the English language, both oral and written.
• Proven experience in participating in, organizing and conducting datathons or similar data science competitions.
• Experience in the Retail and/or Finance industry is preferred, but not required. 
• Ability to perform industry and domain research and incorporate new topics into varied curricula.
• Data-driven mindset and results-oriented
• Experience in education is preferred but not required
• Ability to work independently and adhere to deadlines
• Exceptional communication to ensure the status of your work and ability to meet deadlines is known at all times
• Knowledge of data ethics and privacy considerations related to using real-world datasets.

Where you are:

• This is a fully remote position, flexible with the ability to meet with our team for one hour per week (Eastern time)
• The expected commitment to this role is approximately 8 hours per week for 2-4 months.

Compensation

• An estimation of the range for this position is $50-$65/hr + performance bonus.
