Content Manager
Job Description
Position Summary
The Content Manager will be responsible for two areas: 1) leading the cruise line market and 2) curating and managing content for cruise lines as well as other markets served by the company. Understanding and ability to convey the content and technical needs of the cruise line market is imperative to take the business forward. The successful candidate will work successfully with various departments, including Marketing, Rights & Distribution and Information Technology.
Responsibilities
Sales/Business Development
- Demonstrate initiative and creativity in developing and executing sales strategies for customer retention, new business acquisition and combating competition including but not limited to the following areas:
- Counter-selling and up-selling
- Exclusive schedule acquisition
- Prospecting, entry into new markets and new revenue steams
- Technological advances in the marketplace
- Pricing
- Analyze market share to identify prospects and determine where to increase revenue with existing customer base
- Build close relationships with key accounts to identify customer content and technical needs, opportunities, and obstacles
- Manage relationships with existing equipment partners and research new partners to ensure customers' evolving technical needs are met
Leadership
- Assist the President in establishing team and individual goals by assessing each team member's capabilities and priorities
- Participate in performance reviews and provide coaching when necessary to ensure excellent account management practices and superior customer service
- Update and manage the onboarding process for new team hires; this includes the training manual, new employee orientation and 30/60/90 day objectives
- Encourage team morale and motivation by projecting a positive attitude, maintaining open lines of communication, hosting team building activities and acknowledging wins
- Promote a thorough awareness of content and its relevance to Swank's markets to maximize revenue for the studios
- Identify new content needs and assist with vetting new partners/studios
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensures they are communicated and implemented within the team
- Meet regularly with leadership teams within the organization to convey current and future content needs
- Involvement in planning marketing initiatives alongside market team members
Content Development
- Develop industry knowledge by keeping abreast of competing products, vendors and technological changes in the industry
- Promote a thorough awareness of content and its relevance to Swank's markets to maximize revenue for the studios
- Identify new content needs and assist with vetting new partners/studios
Requirements
Professional Requirements
- Key account management and sales team management experience
- Proven track record for meeting or exceeding sales goals
- Bachelor's degree or 3 years of sales experience
- Ability to travel up to 20%
Organizational Relationships
- Reports to the President and leads a team of employees who are responsible for customer service.
- Interfaces with departments such as Marketing, Studio Rights & Distribution, Information Technology and Sales as needed for marketing initiatives, budgets and to ensure distribution methods meet customers' needs.
