Content Marketer

Summary:
Southern California News Group is looking for a Content Marketer to own our content strategy, creation, and distribution to drive interest in various advertising services for our well-known publications. This individual will work independently to conceptualize, plan, produce, and analyze written content that intrigues potential clients. The ideal candidate is a creative writer who can translate complex ideas into colorful stories while working independently at an efficient pace.
What you will do:

• Plan and manage a content calendar, write efficiently, and hit deadlines
• Produce high-quality articles, blogs, web copy, ebooks, white papers, email marketing messages, product descriptions, case studies, written scripts, & reports
• Strike the balance between clean, concise, well-polished copy and vibrant, colorful, "non-corporate robot" copy that piques and holds the attention of our potential clients
• Work closely with senior leaders to create effective communications strategies that articulate our product's core benefits properly and consistently
• Strategize, conceptualize, research topics, find supporting data, and execute creatively
• Adapt to evolving content needs of the Demand Generation marketing team

What you will bring:

• 1-3 years of content writing experience; experience writing SEO content and providing engagement reporting
• Bachelor's in writing, communications, journalism, marketing, or related discipline
• Ability to translate complex ideas into colorful stories
• Strong communication, and time management skills
• Excellent grammar, punctuation, and spelling skills

This is a hybrid role with occasional onsite expectation in Irvine, CA.
The annual salary range is $60,000 - $65,000. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, time in role, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, MediaNews Group offers a comprehensive benefits package, and a 401K plan (all benefits are based on eligibility).
