Job Description
The Content Marketing Manager ("Content Manager") is responsible for editorial management and content generation on the content team, part of the broader Brand Marketing team within Workhuman. In this role, the Content Manager will craft strategic, web-based content leveraged across the Marketing organization - including PR/communications, demand generation, ABM, customer development, events marketing - as well as sales enablement. The Content Manager will manage a team of internal and external content creators and will partner closely with SEO, organic social, and paid media teams to drive a holistic content strategy across the business. The Content Manager reports to the Senior Director, Content Strategy & Activation to build, execute on, and measure performance of content marketing efforts.
Responsibilities
- Serve as editor-in-chief for Workhuman blog (manage editorial calendar and overall editorial process) as well as manage other content written in-house (including content submitted by third-parties and vendors)
- Ghostwrite strategic bylines for Workhuman executives across Workhuman digital properties and third-party media outlets
- Manage ideation and execution of multi-media content development, including Workhuman podcasts and video content development
- Collaborate with Workhuman research team on semi-annual surveys and other research initiatives solidifying Workhuman as an industry thought leader, including survey design, analysis, written reports, and working with the in-house creative team on final outputs
- Manage team of content writers: logistics, publishing, and coaching
- Collaborate closely with SEO team on keyword-driven content ideation, execution, and optimization
- Partner with organic social, paid media, and PR/communications teams to ensure Workhuman content is appropriately amplified across organic, paid media, and earned media channels
- Measure content performance at regular intervals and present content analysis to Senior Director, Content Strategy & Activation, as well as other Marketing leadership
Skills & Competencies
- BA in Marketing, Journalism, PR/Comms, English or related field
- 7 - 10 years of relevant experience
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills as well as content performance analysis
- SEO and social media proficiency
- Superlative storytelling ability
- Knowledge of content marketing technology: CMS, SEO tools, Google Analytics, etc.
- Superior attention to detail and quality
- Self-starter
