NOTE: OBE is currently hiring for this position on a temporary contract bases. Estimated assignment to be 2-5 months long, depending on the amount of client work that is scoped. We will evaluate the possibility of hiring for this position on a permanent full-time basis in Q4 2023. The ideal location for this person to be based out of is in our Mill Valley, CA office, but we will also consider hiring out of our Los Angeles or New York offices.
SUMMARY OF POSITION
The Content Producer collaborates with the Senior Content Producer, Creative Content Director and internal/external teams including experiential producers, writers, video editors, motion designers, and creative technologists. They coordinate and oversee the production workflows of video and photography content, spanning from pre-production through production and post-production ensuring the delivery of high-quality content on time and within budget. This involves developing detailed production plans, shot lists, managing timelines, budgets, and securing crews, vendors, locations, props, equipment, and talent, to ensure a seamless execution aligned with the creative approach. On location, they coordinate shoots, manage crews and talent, and liaise with the client, building relationships and acting as the agency's voice in client interactions. During post-production, they oversee the editing process, working closely with editors and multimedia artists. They track both internal and client feedback, contributing to the refinement and enhancement of the content. Strong organizational skills, a keen eye for visual storytelling, and proficiency in content capture equipment and video editing tools are also essential for this role. The Content Producer must also possess the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work within tight deadlines, ultimately producing captivating content that aligns with client objectives and resonates with audiences.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
CONTENT PRODUCTION
- Coordinate the following aspects of concept development, pre-production, execution, and post-production.
- Concept Development:
- Research
- Feasibility
- Pre-production:
- Vendor and EXT staff sourcing.
- Scope production projects in terms of ballpark, feasibility, and logistics (incl permits, COI’s, rentals, etc…).
- Development of budgets, call sheets, shot lists, field-production and shooting schedules.
- Field-Production:
- Coordinate content capture crews on set or in the field and liaise with director and client.
- Ensure the proper execution of all field-production related details; including schedules, shot-lists, etc...
- Post-production coordination:
- Coordinate and oversee post-production workflows, overseeing content vendors including production houses, freelancers, software & equipment, review rounds, and delivery systems.
- Build post-production workbacks.
- Liaise between OBE Creative and vendors for all assets trafficking, consolidating, and tracking internal and client feedback.
- Concept Development:
VIDEO CONTENT CREATION
- Shoot high-quality video and photography using professional cameras, ensuring proper framing, lighting, and audio setup, either independently or in coordination with onsite crew.
- Operate various DSLR/mirrorless cameras, drones, gimbals, as well as lighting video and photo sets.
- Contribute innovative ideas and suggestions for video concepts, trending storytelling techniques, and visual aesthetics to enhance the overall quality of the content
- Editing videos for brands and shaping stories in a wide range of topics, including sports, lifestyle, social justice, health, food, beauty, tech, pop culture, and more.
- Support internal video editing needs (OBE Marketing video content, Reels, etc.)
- Ability to own the end-to-end video editing process:
- Ingesting and transcoding raw media.
- Creating selects sequences, string-outs, and rough cuts.
- Edit versions and implement internal and client notes.
- Work closely with motion designers.
- Sound design and music editing
- Basic sound mix
- Color grading
- Export final deliverables
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 3years experience in content production, creation and editing.
- Experiential or Live Events experience preferred.
REQUIREMENTS, ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Proven experience as a content producer/creator with a portfolio of previous work demonstrating strong technical and creative capabilities and potential.
- Thorough knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro with experience working with Adobe Photoshop, After Effects, Audition.
- Understand and implement best practices for file management and media storage, and work in an organized manner.
- Knowledge of video deliverables formats and specs, codecs, frame rates, audio formats, etc.
- Effective communicator and storyteller with the desire and determination to find the best approach to communicate an idea verbally and visually and articulately present it to other team members, clients, and agency partners.
- Ability and desire to collaborate in a team environment and manage changing/tight deadlines.

- High energy and flexibility in working non-traditional hours as needed (some nights and weekends as deadlines dictate).
- Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.
Compensation Range: $71,000 - $98,000 annually. This is the pay range OBE believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on level of experience, relevant skills, professional certifications, market pay, and demand for the role. OBE reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. For the permanent full-time role, Benefits include: medical/dental/vision insurance, employer paid basic life and personal accident insurance.
