We have an exciting opportunity for a Content & Records Management Analyst II to join our team in Madison, WI. As a Content & Records Management Analyst, you will perform everything from regulatory research, business analysis, and technical writing to maintenance of records & information management systems, training development/delivery and relationship management with external records service providers. This position will work collaboratively with departments across our Wisconsin and Iowa service territory, to ensure proper management of company records, while also advising on best practices for life cycle management of all their information assets.
The Records & Information Management (RIM) department is helping lead the organization beyond traditional records management towards a culture of true information life cycle management. The team is highly active with multiple projects and initiatives, providing employees with a variety of work.
This is a hybrid position and will work remotely and report to the Madison, WI office on average twice per week. Candidates must reside in Wisconsin. This position requires travel throughout our service territory in Wisconsin and Iowa. Travel is estimated to be 10-20% including daytrips and overnight travel.
What you will do
- Following standard processes and procedures, conducts inventories and analyzes existing records repositories to make suggestions for retention and storage.
- Completes moderately complex to complex analysis of customer needs to identify business and technical requirements for processes and systems. Suggests improvements to existing processes and systems, and design of system components related to life cycle management of physical and electronic content and records.
- Researches and interprets regulatory, legal and operational retention requirements.
- Implements, maintains and monitors systems of moderate complexity and monitors daily system performance.
- Develops and maintains manuals, documentation, and training materials and conducts training related to life cycle management of physical and electronic content and records.
- Provides mentoring and guidance to department clerical and support staff.
Education
- Bachelor's Degree Emphasis in records/information management, computer science, business management, library science or related area is preferred.
Required Experience
- 3 years of related experience.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in procedure and technical writing.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to analyze and solve problems of a moderate to complex nature and implement an effective solution.
- Ability to organize medium to large project details and effectively document such details.
- Demonstrated ability to write/produce procedural and technical documents preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to plan and carry out responsibilities with a minimum of direction.
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to use computer software programs (e.g., e-mail, word processing, spreadsheet, and project management). Works in a diverse and inclusive environment.
