Who You AreAs a content expert, writer and tech enthusiast, you intertwine a love of communications, digital marketing and program management. Finding opportunities to bring these worlds together seamlessly is your craft. You have a marketing background with a specialty in software. You are comforted by the pragmatism of a content-driven marketing plan anchored with a understanding of company products and services. Your experience has been used to bring brands to life, and is always supported by business goals. Your ability to create, curate and nurture content is a process you take a great deal of pride in. Your experience doing this has led to a sizable portfolio of multimedia works that continue to live and bring inspiration and tangible insights to others. In addition, in your previous experience you have:
- Gained a minimum of 4 years' experience with content marketing planning, writing and editing.
- Used a digital marketing lens to adapt SEO, SEM and analytics into detailed insights to manage campaigns and strategy.
- Created excitement amongst employees and internal stakeholders by aligning business strategies to key messages.
- Driven engagement with clients and audience members alike by understanding needs and interests and demonstrating evidence of internal expertise in those areas.
- Aligned teams and driven participation to support campaigns while leveraging brand, mission and messaging to win new customers, including the tracking and management of strategic milestones and progress made.
- Shaped culture through consistency, regularity and energy in communications, plans, updates and most notably a strategic delivery with tactical results.
- Collaborated with other creatives to ideate and execute on a vision and plan for marketing, content and communications.
- Demonstrated outstanding oral and written communications skills including superior writing, grammar, editing and proofreading skills.
- Exhibited self-motivation, persuasion, goal orientation and collaboration skills consistently in a role with increasing responsibility or complexity.
You will unleash your linguistic and technical expertise to craft illustrative content across multiple media platforms. You will weave together content with threads from the Marketing and Sales expertise within your team to bring opportunities to life for 8th Light. Your ability to influence and persuade across a team will be essential in helping to attract new customers and new talent but also to coalesce the capabilities of our technologist teams in fortifying their stories. In addition you will contribute to:
- Drafting and revising a goal-oriented enterprise-wide strategy for content and campaigns that support the Company’s brand and growth goals.
- Creating and repurposing content for use on multiple platforms, media outlets and forums, including formats like articles, publications, video and audio clips.Â
- Driving with influence for inclusion and participation of multiple disciplines, voices and perspectives in the organization to contribute to media and publications on rich topics.
- Delivering in a self-starter environment with little guidelines and boundaries. This requires a strong personal desire to effect change and a willingness to get things started and followed through on.
- Using HTML and web publishing standards to produce digital content for web users, partnering with design and developer team members.
- Supporting the company’s sales and growth acumen by leveraging SEO data to help make strategic decisions on plans, content and campaigns.Â
- Adding sophistication and collaboration across platforms such as Slack, Trello, Hubspot and Google suite to create discipline and progress towards a predictable cadence of messaging.
- Enabling and inspiring contributors to participate in content development, by providing advice and tools that will enhance content production.
- Utilizing an interchangeably verbose and pithy style, allowing buyer and talent audiences to delve deeply into expansive topics or topics brief enough to create a succinct pitch.
Nice to Have
You seek to use all available resources and tools at your discretion to fully amplify a story and support those in your team. In addition to the experience listed above, we would particularly like to encourage applicants with experience in the following areas:
- A consulting background in a firm, agency or other professional services environment is strongly preferred.
- Software inclined including knowledge of Software Products, SaaS, Human Centered Design Principles, Agile Methodology or Clean Code is preferred.

When opportunities allow we can also consider hiring talent eligible to work in the United Kingdom, Mexico, and Canada. In this new workplace landscape, it is rare that our consulting engagements require travel for current roles.Â

A Note on Compensation:
8th Light has recently adopted a compensation strategy that allows us to be competitive in each market for which we hire. Thereby, salary ranges for each position are not only determined based on experience and knowledge base, but also regional labor markets.
