Content Strategist - EMEA (English/German)

1021 Creative is seeking a candidate who has a passion for trending video content and internet pop-culture. This is a position that requires an understanding of online trends, an interest in telling stories using data, and a strong familiarity of the top social media platforms where this content resides.

As a Content Strategist, you will play a crucial role within the our EMEA team, identifying trends, and analyzing content based on client guidelines. In this role, you will identify patterns in video content, provide editorial and research services related to trending videos. You will support different teams (United Kingdom and Germany) identifying patterns in video content as they relate to trends, and will be fully cross-functional. This role will engage with a variety of projects working with trending video content.

What you will do

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and partnerships to deliver editorial feedback and research on video content
• Review video content each day and take into account complex policies and considerations
• Identify patterns or trends in video content, adhering to client guidelines
• Evaluate and assess the assigned number of videos required to meet daily deliverables
• Apply a keen awareness of the cultural and political climate to all work
• Determine if videos meet the set criteria for the client’s goals
• Participate in and encourage the growth of 1021’s culture both within the company and outside of it
• Special Projects as needed

What we’re looking for

A creative, curious, and kind human with

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and German
• Comfortable working with Google Suite, with spreadsheets and other data management tools
• Flexibility to adapt to changes in guidelines, workflows, and tools.
• Experience with content moderation or content review for a popular social media platform.
• Strong understanding of digital streaming products, particularly video and its ecosystem
• Understanding of cultural and political climates in EMEA
• The ability to review information with an analytical and objective mindset in a fast paced environment
• A keen interest in/knowledge of pop culture, social media trends and creators, and trending video content
• Strong familiarity with memes, hit songs and content trends in pop culture including music, dance, gaming, beauty, fashion, film, TV, pets, comedy, and/or sports
• Familiar with popular social media platforms including YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Snapchat, Facebook, Twitter, Twitch, Clubhouse, etc.
• Flexible availability to accommodate varying workloads and potential schedule changes (this may include weekends)

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or experience in relevant job or industry
• Knowledge of content review guidelines and best practices.
• Knowledge of global internet trends and popular culture- with particular focus on EMEA
• Experience working within multicultural teams.
• Previous experience in content moderation, curation, safety review, or similar roles
• Experience with copywriting and proofreading, preferably with a focus on entertainment content

Schedule: Part-time (20 hours/week)
