The role
This is a temporary position expected to be 40 hours per week for the first 48 weeks, and 20 hours per week for the final 20 weeks.Â
The Content Strategist oversees content requirements and provides strategic content-specific deliverables across a project life cycle. This includes conducting content audits (qualitative analysis of all the content on a network of sites), identifying top-performing content, defining KPIs for content engagement as well as gap analysis for net new content creation opportunities. The Content Strategist is in charge of creating and maintaining editorial calendars, content style guides, taxonomies, metadata frameworks and content migration plans. The role also includes responsibility for copywriting when and where necessary.Â
The Content Strategist also drives content engagement strategies across SEO, SEM and related channels. In addition, the Content Strategist will support the creation of content-specific experimentation strategies designed to increase engagement and conversion across web and related channels. This role requires extensive understanding of content-driven analytics, engagement models and the ability to clearly define and articulate strategies that will drive content-influenced business results across digital experiences.
Role responsibilities
- Work with C-Level client stakeholders to understand brand positioning, personas, journeys and business objectives
- Lead and develop KPIs for content engagement and augment that with strategies for driving engagement and conversions
- Support the creation of SEO and SEM strategies
- Support on-going analytical reviews of content to identify poorly performing and high performing content; augment with recommendations for improvement over time
- Support experimentation initiatives to holistically improve customer engagement and retention
- Support content-specific aspects of personalization planning and execution
- Partner with Experience architects/designers and visual designers to create highly functional and user-friendly interactions and experiences
- Write content and copy, and a strategic approach to creating user-centered solutions.Â
- Communicate complex concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the organization
- Write a variety of digital content for instructional, transactional and marketing experiencesÂ
- Meets ambitious deadlines and delivering high quality work on schedule, including quickly turning around plans and reports
Minimum qualifications

- 5+ years of related work experience
- Familiarity with popular analytic platforms including Google Analytics (or equivalent)
- Experience developing and leading content strategy projects / programs for large-scale clients
- Strong understanding of the principles of content strategy with a clear understanding of information architecture, interactive design principles, and web usabilityÂ
- Familiar with delivering creative within an Agile environment
- A firm understanding of search engine optimization (SEO) and search engine marketing (SEM) skills are often preferred
- Comfortable with data collection and quantitative analysis
- Familiarity with popular experimentation tools
- Exposure to popular Content Management Systems (CMS)
Preferred qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, with an emphasis on English, Writing, Technical Writing, Journalism, Content Strategy, or Library Science preferred, or equivalent experience
- Experience with financial services institutions is highly desirable
- Experience with developing and leading personalized content-driven experiences
- Experience with syndicated content management
