Your New Role
The Content Transmission department provides transmission services across News, Sports and Entertainment for WBD via satellite, fiber and IP. This group plays a crucial part in getting our live transmissions to air. Apart from working with teammates, this group paints a broader picture of the business by partnering with internal teams and external vendors. The internship role will work alongside the team to attain a working knowledge of the transmission infrastructure that connects Warner Bros Discovery, CNN bureaus and affiliates, vendors, and remote locations used for planned events and breaking news is required. The departmental culture heavily encourages teaching and learning which allows for personal and professional growth.This internship will be located in the Atlanta area. The selected intern will be expected to join us in the office on a regular cadence based on the intern manager's in office schedule.
Your Role Accountabilities
- Communicate with internal partners (International/Domestic Lives Desk, Editorial & Engineering) to gather transmission requirements and fulfill them in a timely manner
- Utilize the scheduling tool(s) to create and schedule bookings
- Create transmission paths by routing signals via satellite, fiber and IP
- Collaborate with Business Admins on cost accrual, billing, reconciliation of disputes and discrepancies
- Collaborate with Special Events on large scale events (debates, townhalls, elections, breaking news)
- Engage with a multitude of vendors for requests and support
This position promotes acquiring knowledge in a fast paced technology and operations environment that's always growing and changing. Alongside that, this opportunity allows for exposure across various teams and can create lifelong networking opportunities!
Qualifications & Experience
- Ability to provide excellent customer service
- Must work well under pressure and be able to multitask
- Detail oriented and great organized skills
- Must be actively enrolled in an accredited college or university degree program for the full duration of the internship (proof of enrollment required)
- Must be a rising Junior or Senior Undergrad student (18 years or older)
- Must be in academic good standing (3.0 or above GPA)
- Warner Bros. Discovery will only consider candidates who are presently authorized to work for any employer in the United States and who will not require work visa sponsorship from Warner Bros. Discovery now or in the future in order to retain their authorization to work in the United States.
The Nice to Haves
- Understanding of broadcast television
- Understanding of Satellites, Fiber and/or IP streams

What to know before applying:
The duration of the summer program regardless of which start/end option is 11 weeks.
Program date options:
Option 1: June 3rd - August 16th
Option 2: June 10th - August 23rd
- Interns will be expected to work 35-40 hours per week in a hybrid capacity.
- Our internships are paid opportunities with a competitive hourly wage. Credit is not required; however, we will provide the necessary documentation for school credit if desired. Relocation is not provided.
- Interviewing will take place from March through mid-April. A WBD team member will contact you if your experiences and interests match an open internship position. Due to the high volume of applications, we are unable to give individual status updates.
