The Content Marketing Team is looking for a Content Writer to write and edit a variety of engaging content for startups and small-to-medium businesses building technical businesses. This role will author content ranging from email series to blogs, publish content on DigitalOcean's website, and collaborate with a range of teams to create compelling content. This role is ideal for someone who is a versatile writer, comfortable with both short- and medium-form content, and has experience writing for technical and startup audiences.
What you'll be doing:
  • Write compelling short and medium-form content, including email series, blogs, webpage copy, and sales collateral.
  • Copyedit a variety of content from other authors to ensure it is within our style guidelines.
  • Research for and author content pieces on topics ranging from startup advice to cloud computing education.
  • Publish blogs and other content in our Content Management System.
  • Collaborate with growth marketing, demand generation, and other teams on content campaigns.
  • Support the Content Marketing Team on special projects including research reports and new content launches.

What we expect from you
  • 2-4 years in a content marketing or writing-focused role, with a proven track record of creating high-quality content in a variety of formats.
  • Experience creating content for technical or startup audiences.
  • A passion for writing and editing short and medium-form content, with excellent storytelling abilities, editing instincts, and grammatical skills.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple projects at once and work cross-functionally to ensure deadlines are met.
  • An interest in writing for small businesses and startups on a range of topics.
  • Experience writing SEO-optimized content and knowledge of SEO best practices
  • Experience with or interest in the cloud computing space, including infrastructure as a service, Kubernetes, and web hosting.
