Position Overview

The Content Writer, Accounting role at TechnologyAdvice is for our online publication Fit Small Business. This person creates high-quality, authoritative content directed toward small business owners with a primary focus on accounting software and secondary focus will be on small business bookkeeping. Articles will include high-level educational content and content helping small businesses make their purchasing decision. The Content Writer, Accounting should have extensive experience with QuickBooks software, and preferably be a QuickBooks ProAdvisor or open to pursuing it. This role works in collaboration with our Accounting Section’s Content Producer and reports to our Content Editor.

Location: Philippines 

Working Hours: 9pm to 6am PHT (APR-OCT) or 10pm to 7am PHT (NOV-MAR)

What you'll do

• Produce high-quality, publishable drafts of 3-4 articles each week, consistently meeting deadlines.
• Leverage your expertise in accounting software to create authoritative and educational content.
• Learn new accounting software and educates our small business audience
• Stay current with new features and updates in accounting software, ensuring content is relevant and accurate.
• Learn how to ideate future articles in the field of expertise, working with the Content Producer on a runway
• Conduct keyword research to optimize content for search engines and enhance visibility.
• Works with SEO Marketing and Business Development to connect the work of those teams to the content
• Take on larger content projects, utilizing your expertise to drive in-depth and valuable pieces.
• Work closely with the SEO marketing team to boost the visibility and reach of your content.

Who you are

• You have subject matter expertise in accounting & accounting software
• 3+ years of bookkeeping experience, or an associates degree or higher in accounting/bookkeeping
• Have 1-2 years minimum experience working with QuickBooks
• Prefer candidates that are certified QuickBooks ProAdvisors
• You enjoy writing and can demonstrate writing proficiency on a test article and/or a current portfolio.  
• Prefer experience writing online articles
• You are collaborative and enjoy working with multiple team members
• You have a basic understanding of SEO
• You are self-motivated and able to manage your time to meet deadlines
• You are open to feedback and strive to learn something new every day
• You are passionate about delivering the best answers to people’s questions
• You are comfortable working in a remote environment and on a team where things change quickly
• Must have a working laptop/pc and internet and back-up connection
• Agile professional who excels in a fast-paced environment and thrives on continuously pivoting strategies to drive business needs forward
