JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for the execution of continuous improvement activities as directed by the continuous improvement manager.
PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinate and facilitate kaizen teams for the continuous improvement of lean manufacturing processes.
- Participate in leading kaizen events among other leadership staff within the plant.
- Partner with quality assurance to ensure adherence to standards through lean manufacturing principles such as error-proofing.
- Aid manager in maintaining the Cabinetworks Group Operating System (COS) training schedule and completion for all plant personnel.
- Maintain 6S program and coordinate 6S activities throughout the manufacturing facility.
- Maintain standard work and ensure updates are occurring with all continuous improvement activities.
- Review processes using lean tools and documentation to eliminate waste, implement pull production, and make value flow.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- At least 3 years of manufacturing experience or relative skill set.
- Intermediate to advanced computer experience with strong knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with lean manufacturing tools and systems.
- Experience participating in kaizen events.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, facilitation, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to travel 5-10% of the time for training and development.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- Knowledge or training of Six Sigma continuous improvement techniques.
- Experience coordinating and leading kaizen events.
- Knowledge of ISO guidelines.
