Position Summary
The CI Engineer is a position within Apogee (and within AFS BU) that will report to the Dallas/Toronto CI Manager, with matrix leadership provided by the Wausau Director of Continuous Improvement. This position entails regular interaction with the local leadership team, as well as operations associates.
The position will drive Lean transformation through the deployment of the Apogee Management System- AMS. He/she will rigorously focus on operational productivity for the purpose of customer support, cost reduction, and capacity improvement. The CI Engineer with work to deploy best practices that will reduce costs and drive margin improvement in all areas of the business, while maximizing customer satisfaction and positive employee engagement.
The CI Engineer will be a Lean tactician with experience deploying lean tools (such as Standard Work, TPM, SMED, LDM, VSM) to drive breakthrough operational improvements and cultural change. The position will work with teammates to develop a high-performance continuous improvement culture. The ability to manage priorities and work with multiple operations teams is critical for success in this role.

- Implement Apogee Management System at Dallas AFS Site
- Ensure AMS execution drives results for customers and stakeholders, connecting lean results to the KPIs and P&L
- Bring lean expertise to operations, coach AMS execution, ability to teach but also have the ability to execute
- Deploy to short term direct leadership roles per the needs of business, function as talent-bench

Education and Skills Required
- BS in Engineering or technical field
- MBA not required
- TPS experience, 6-sigma not required
- Experience in lean operating environment, and transformation
- Very light ad hoc travel
