Continuous Improvement Manager
Job Description
Position Summary:
The Crane Business System Manager is responsible for driving Operational Excellence throughout all areas of the organization. This Manager will assist leaders and champions in the selection of continuous improvement projects that align with the Strategic Deployment Plan as well as the establishment of baselines and target metrics for key processes. Responsible for managing/driving improvement projects of significant size and scope. Must ensure that the project tracking dashboard is maintained and results are communicated to management. Assist in coordinating and developing the organization's CBS Deployment Plan. Must be a take charge individual with excellent organization, communication and people skills.
Principle Duties (includes, but is not limited to):
• Leads, facilitates and/or consults on all kaizen or JDI improvement events.
• Manages the kaizen roadmap.
• Training to the organization on CBS tools.
• Perform a variety of complex duties in the management and coordination of a world-class Operational Excellence process using a cross-functional, team-based environment involving all members of the organization.
• Facilitate establishment of Operational Excellence principles throughout the organization, to include coaching and mentoring to ensure timely completion of quality and/or cost focused projects.
• Apply operational improvement tools to identify key problem drivers/root causes and achieve business process improvement.
• Project management activities including business case development, risk identification and mitigation, resource and budget allocation.
• Motivate and manage to facilitate/drive change in the organization.
• Act as in-house consultant, working closely with management and all other areas of the organization to attain goals aligned with Strategic Deployment Plan.
• Maintain focus on continuous improvement through researching and sourcing innovative, cost efficient business solutions.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement at all levels of the organization.
Adhere to all Company policies, safeguard the company's interests and act in an ethical and legal manner as well as report all violations of Company policies and procedures to appropriate management.
Essential Qualifications / Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering or other related field required. MBA or MS in Engineering preferred.
• Training and proven accomplishments utilizing Lean tools/methodologies.
• An understanding and proficiency in Change Management.
• Demonstrated ability to motivate all levels of the organization.
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
• Strong project planning and organizational skills.
• Strong team formation and leadership skills.
• Broad business knowledge and ability to link customer needs and business processes.
• Proficient in the use of Word and Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, to include presentation skills and facilitation of groups toward deliverables.
• Proficient in multi-tasking
Ability to drive culture change within the business through the lean tools and using strong interpersonal skills
