Eaton's Fuel & Motion Control sector of our Aerospace Group is currently seeking a Continuous Improvement Manager to join our team in North Charleston, SC.

Position Overview:

The Manager of Continuous Improvement, is a critical member of the plant leadership team, responsible for the creation and execution of the site continuous improvement strategy. This includes deploying and improving Operational Excellence processes like Lean, Six Sigma, Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing Strategy, Maintenance and New Product Launch.

The role drives improvement to results in factory margin, product delivery performance, employee safety and reductions in process variation.

In this function you will:
  • Leverage ELSS (Eaton Lean Six Sigma) policies and tools such as Value Stream Mapping, Standard Work, 5S, Set-Up.
  • Develop standard implementation framework for the deployment of manufacturing operating system in alignment with ELSS principles
  • Reduction, A3, etc. to identify and eliminate waste and reduce costs.
  • Report out on cost-out project status, opportunities, and roadblocks to plant and divisional leadership.
  • Drive employee engagement with respect to continuous improvement and lean manufacturing. Build and sustain lean culture through developing awareness and expertise of lean manufacturing concepts and tools at all levels of the organization.
  • Facilitate the advancement of the TPM, PPAP and FMEA movement to improve asset uptime, reliability and process control.
  • Develop the ELSS competencies of the organization through an established training plan.
  • Conduct ELSS assessments and partner with plant and division leadership teams to identify performance gaps and prioritize improvement activities and countermeasures.
  • Facilitate EBS Pull and OpA related activities.
  • Build and sustain zero-defect culture within facility by developing problem solving knowledge at all levels.
  • Support New Product Development projects as needed. Ensure robust LEAN / Quality principles are incorporated in new manufacturing processes.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of two (2) years of applicable experience in Continuous Improvement
  • Minimum of two (2) year of experience in Manufacturing operations
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the United States on an on-going basis without Company sponsorship
  • The position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be US Persons as defined by ITAR (US citizen, US permanent resident, Political Asylee, Refugee).
  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates that currently reside within the immediate geographical area of 50-miles of North Charleston, SC will be considered.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Training and mentoring experience of Six Sigma/Lean concepts at multiple levels
    Advanced degree in business administration or engineering
  • Lean expert
  • Six Sigma Black Belt Certified
  • 5+ years of CI and Quality experience with manufacturing background
  • Ergonomic experience, hazard risk assessment, workstation audits, and human factors.
