What you will do-

As Continuous Improvement Manager you will be in the Kalamazoo manufacturing site at Stryker Instruments. You will support manufacturing and production teams by planning, organizing, and developing goals for engineering resources to support continuous improvement initiatives. You will manage directly and/or indirectly the activities of manufacturing support staff, engineers, and technicians and act as point of contact for management team on continuous improvement initiatives.

Additional responsibilities:

  • Coach employees, establish clear priorities and building productive working relationships.
  • Lead and facilitate continuous improvement initiatives using Lean/6S methodologies and tools with cross functional teams from inception through implementation of recommendations and solutions
  • Provide reports on areas of responsibility
  • Change systems/processes as required in support of Lean initiatives
  • Participate in Gemba walks and coach employees on continuous improvement, standard work development/modification/adherence, flow, takt time attainment, and problem-solving abnormalities causing issues
  • Provide leadership and process guidance to the Operations team members
  • Create and provide training specific to Lean Transformation tools and methodology
  • Conduct/facilitate value stream analyses at plant and unit levels
  • Assist all teams as needed to ensure plant improvements are made and sustained
  • Demonstrate knowledge in evolving operational and process excellence (Lean, Six Sigma, Design Excellence) concepts and tools

What you need-

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Engineering or related field required. Master's Degree preferred
  • 8+ years of Lean operations experience required, preferably in a medical device manufacturing environment
  • Previous management experience preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to lead/facilitate cross-functional problem-solving teams
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, track and facilitate projects using applicable tools (Gantt and Flow Charts etc.)
  • Excellent organization, planning, presentation and communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience creating and facilitating training initiatives
  • Excellent analytical skills
