Job Description

The Continuous Improvement Manager is responsible for leading the Continuous Improvement initiatives within the organization. This position will provide leadership, planning, technical direction, communication and coaching skills to ensure safe production of high-quality products to meet customer needs in the most cost effective manner. Responsibilities include, but may not be limited to the following duties:

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Drives Continuous Improvement to quantitatively and qualitatively improve costs, quality, and service.
  • Develop and measure standard metrics, diagram the flow, including inputs and outputs, of a business process and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop project plans for implementing improvements and monitor the new process to ensure it works as intended.
  • Train and educate the organization and implement continuous improvement methodologies including but not limited to 6 Sigma, 5S, Lean, OEE and others.
  • Responsible for discrete categories of OEE opportunity including tracking downtime results, improving data integrity and developing improvement plans based on the data.
  • Ensures product quality is maintained through continuous improvement efforts. Establishes and manages systems for "right first time" performance and incorporates this philosophy in the continuous improvement teams. Focused on plant wide issues and inter-plant initiatives including developing synergies and business opportunities to optimize other manufacturing plants.
  • Provide strategic leadership and tactical planning for the facility. Partner with HR leadership on broader training plans and processes.
  • Develop and enable Tiered management approach -Lead team meetings, document clear actions and enable timeline achievement.
  • Perform postmortem meetings after events and address action items.
  • Maintains Continuous Improvement and reporting; creates periodic presentations on company implementation progress to management.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • B.S. degree or equivalent work experience
  • 5 years work experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience
  • Lean or Six Sigma training and/or certification
  • Demonstrated written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to facilitate large and small teams
  • Ability to manage and drive improvement projects
