About the position:

We're looking for a Continuous Improvement Project Specialist to design, develop, implement and/or maintain continuous improvement initiatives for the RayBuilt and RayLease businesses, that can help improve key performance indicators with limited supervision. The Continuous Improvement (CI) Project Specialist is accountable to develop, implement and sustain process improvement initiatives utilizing the Toyota Production System (TPS) methodologies to deliver long-term, breakthrough results in the areas of safety, quality, cost, delivery, and productivity and employee engagement. Responsible for driving process improvement initiatives for current methods/processes and implement plans for improvement throughout the organization. Typically works under normal office conditions, required to sit/stand for extended periods of time. to collaborate with leaders and HR Business Partners to attract the talent to achieve our organizational goals and vision.You will:

  • Implement/Develop knowledge and understanding of continuous improvement concepts in both manufacturing and non-manufacturing environment.
  • Attend daily, weekly, monthly management meetings as required
  • Assist with implementation of daily continuous improvement with individual contributors and leadership
  • Develop specifications, implements, and maintains continuous improvement programs and/or systems.
  • Maintain kaizen system, visual management program, 8 Step Problem Solving process and standard work initiatives.
  • Coach departments on documenting processes into standard work instruction format.
  • Assist in conducting studies pertaining to improving quality, reducing cost, improving delivery and morale.
  • Mentor problem solving teams utilizing the Root Cause Analysis (5-Why), 8 Step Problem Solving, and Kata processes to reduce waste and defects.
  • Share best practices and develops coordinated plans.
  • Create close working relationships with each business area, executes daily continuous improvement and enables each business area to achieve its target performance objectives.
  • Plan, coordinate and/or conduct highly complex continuous improvement projects or project segments leveraging TPS methodologies that typically have multi-department impact.
  • Be a change agent: challenges organizational leaders to drive continuous improvements; remove organizational barriers to continuous improvement processes.
  • Design information methods to provide management with specific data, utilizing knowledge of data processing principles.
  • Develop and design methods and procedures for collecting, organizing, interpreting and classifying information.
  • Gather, analyze and interpret data to identify issues to assist other employees in problem resolution.
  • Understanding of tools used to develop workstation Takt times, reduce motion waste, and maximize work area
  • Understanding of change management and utilization of TPS tools to organize work areas into flow work units.
  • Ability to coach, teach, and mentor both leadership and individual contributors on Continuous Improvement methodologies

About you:

  • A Bachelor's Degree is preferred or experience in TPS environment is preferred
  • Two or more years of project management experience is required

About the total compensation package:

Salary - Salaries starting at $57,281 per year

Relocation - This position may qualify for relocation.
