Job Title: Continuous Improvement Specialist
SUMMARY: Support the identification, execution, and implementation of continuous improvement activities throughout the organization. Develop sustainable improvements through engagement of a team-based improvement approach and proper use of continuous improvement tools.
WAGE TYPE: Hourly
FLSA Exemption: Non-Exempt

- Facilitate internal problem-solving program with members and corresponding documentation process
- Provide assistance to production personnel in implementing improvement ideas and other resources they may need
- Support improvement events directed toward productivity improvements and waste reduction
- Ensures follow-up on improvement events are completed and realized gains are maintained. This includes scheduling and facilitating on-going status reviews with all vested parties.
- Participate in the identification, development and implementation of process improvements and best practices focused on improvements in Safety, Quality, Delivery and Productivity (Labor and Material).
- Coach people in lean methodology and continuous improvement mindset utilizing daily interactions and improvement events.
- Support daily needs of business identified through Managing Daily Improvement (MDI) process
- Could potentially come in contact with hazardous chemicals.
- Environmental responsibility is our commitment to our communities.
- Proper disposal of waste such as recyclables, standard waste, hazardous waste, etc. is expected.
- Any other tasks as required fulfilling Lincoln Industries' Beliefs and Drivers.
ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE:
- Reports to: Manager, Continuous Improvement
QUALIFICATIONS: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be substituted for the expected levels of education and experience required.
Education and/or Experience:
Expected: High School Diploma and 2-4 years applicable manufacturing experience.
Preferred: Associates Degree and knowledge of lean manufacturing and process improvement.
Communication Skills:
- Must be able to read, write and comprehend the English language.
- Ability to foster relationships with internal customers to support desired outcomes.
Other Skills:
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Must have strong technical capabilities.
- Must have excellent technical writing skills.
- Candidates must be able to work both independently and in a team oriented environment.
- Must be a self-starter and able to ask questions to complete assignments on-time and with attention to detail.
- Candidates must be able to work a minimum of 40 hours per week with a flexible schedule.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
